This individual will play a critical role across the company’s core FP&A and strategic finance activities, partnering closely with executive leadership, operational teams, lenders, and financial sponsors to drive performance, planning, and decision-making. New Tradition is a rapid growth and integration platform with constantly evolving operational dynamics that require sophisticated financial planning and analytical rigor.The role combines traditional FP&A leadership with broader strategic finance responsibilities, including cash flow management, lender reporting, board material preparation, operational modeling, long-range planning, and M&A support. The company is investing in improving financial systems, reporting infrastructure, and data accessibility, and this role will play a key leadership role in driving finance process automation and analytical scalability.This role reports to the VP of Strategy and Finance with a dotted line to the CFO and partners regularly with the executive leadership team, Board of Directors, and private equity sponsors.Key Responsibilities:Own and optimize the company’s monthly financial reporting process, including executive-level reporting packages, variance analysis, and business performance insightsManage the annual budgeting process end-to-end, partnering cross-functionally with department leaders to develop, consolidate, and present operating plansOwn the company’s 13-week cash flow forecasting process, including liquidity planning and financing strategy support in partnership with leadership and sponsorsMaintain and enhance the company’s operating model, incorporating new assets, lease changes, and evolving business assumptionsLead monthly and quarterly expense reviews and variance analysis across departments and business unitsDrive lender reporting processes and engagement, including quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc deliverables for financing partners and stakeholdersLead development and maintenance of the company’s long-range financial plan, including modeling, strategic analysis, and presentation materialsSupport M&A activities including financial modeling, diligence support, integration planning, scenario analysis, and capital allocation decisionsDevelop board materials and related financial analyses, including recurring presentations and special projects requested by the Board or financial sponsorsPartner with revenue operations and sales leadership on pricing strategy, deal structuring, margin analysis, and compensation program evaluation and managementBuild and improve scalable reporting, KPI tracking, and analytical infrastructure across the businessDrive continuous improvement in financial planning processes, systems, and reporting capabilities through technology and automation initiativesAs both an individual contributor and manager, the Director of Strategic Finance & M&A will manage and develop associates and affiliated talent.Experience Desired and Keys to Success: Excellent project management and process management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneouslyStrong strategic thinking combined with hands-on analytical executionExceptional financial modeling, forecasting, and quantitative analysis capabilitiesExperience supporting revenue operations and direct sales organizationsStrong business acumen with the ability to connect operational performance to financial outcomesAbility to synthesize large amounts of data into clear insights and actionable recommendations for executive stakeholdersExperience building and refining KPI reporting frameworks and transitioning organizations from manual Excel-driven reporting toward more scalable, technology-enabled solutionsExcellent communication and executive presentation skills, particularly in high-visibility environments involving lenders, boards, and private equity sponsorsHigh level of ownership, accountability, and intellectual curiosityComfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments with changing priorities and ambitious growth objectivesCollaborative, relationship-oriented approach with the ability to influence across functions and levels of the organizationBackground and Qualifications: 7–10+ years of relevant experience across FP&A, strategic finance, investment banking, transaction services, consulting, or related finance disciplinesPrior experience within an operating company finance or FP&A function required. Ideal experience includes high-growth businesses including those within media, advertising, technology and other dynamic, revenue growth-oriented platforms.Experience operating within a private equity-backed or sponsor-owned environment strongly preferredProven experience leading budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and strategic finance initiatives in complex organizationsAdvanced financial modeling and Excel skills required; strong systems and data orientation preferredDemonstrated ability to work with large datasets and financial systems to drive reporting and operational insightsExperience with BI, FP&A, and reporting tools such as NetSuite, Adaptive, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms preferredEmerging experience leveraging generative AI tool sets and platforms a plusBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required; MBA and/or CPA a plusTrack record of thriving in entrepreneurial, high-accountability environments with strong growth orientation and executive visibilityA Note About Us:All of our full-time roles in New York are based at our headquarters in Union Square, where our whole team thrives on in-person collaboration in the office Monday through Thursday of each week (Friday work remote). Onsite collaboration for the majority of our workweek enables us to build strong connections, collaborate effectively to solve challenges, and foster an engaging environment. In our New York City HQ, you’ll work alongside the senior leadership team, including our founders.Compensation & Benefits:The salary for this role is $160,000-$180,000 with opportunities for further upside (bonus) tied directly to your output.
