We are seeking a full time M-F 8-4:30 Human Resources Generalist with strong payroll and benefits experience to join our team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, while also supporting key HR functions that contribute to a positive and compliant workplace.
For over thirty years, Neuroscience Group has provided excellent neurologic care for the Fox Valley and Northeast Wisconsin. Ours is the only medical facility in the area that combines neurosurgery, neurology, orthopedic spine surgery, interventional and non-interventional pain management, and physical therapy. Our practice has grown to over 60 providers and serves patients in nine outlying clinics scattered throughout the region. Responsibilities
Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees using Paylocity, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
Maintain and audit payroll data including wages, deductions, benefits, PTO balances, and tax withholdings
Review and validate timekeeping data, including missed punches, corrections, and approvals
Ensure compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws, including overtime calculations and payroll tax requirements
Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related questions and issue resolution
Coordinate with Finance regarding payroll reconciliations, general ledger entries, and reporting
Manage year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing and audits
Maintain Paylocity system configurations and recommend process improvements
Onboard all new hires with focus on payroll and benefits orientation.
HRIS Administration (Paylocity)
Serve as the internal expert for Paylocity functionality, including payroll, time and labor, and employee data management
Maintain employee records and ensure data integrity within the system
Assist with system updates, reporting, and troubleshooting
Support onboarding and offboarding processes within Paylocity
Employee Relations & Support
Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and HR policies
Provide guidance to employees and leaders on HR processes and procedures
Assist in addressing employee concerns and escalate complex matters as appropriate
Benefits Administration
Support benefits processing, including payroll deductions, eligibility updates, and coordination with vendors
Assist employees with benefit-related questions and issue resolution
Support open enrollment activities and system updates within Paylocity
Compliance & HR Operations
Ensure compliance with all applicable wage and hour laws and HR regulations
Maintain accurate employee documentation and payroll records
Support audits related to payroll, benefits, and HR compliance
Assist with policy implementation and ensure consistent application across the organization
Recruitment Support (As Needed)
Provide support to recruitment efforts as needed, including reviewing resumes and assisting with candidate screening
Coordinate interview scheduling and communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process
Assist in preparing and extending job offers in collaboration with the Director of Human Resources and hiring leaders
Support onboarding activities to ensure a smooth transition for new hires
Maintain confidentiality and a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
PHR or SHRM-CP Certified preferred, but not required.
Experience
37 years of Human Resources and/or payroll experience
Direct experience processing payroll in Paylocity strongly preferred (highly desired qualification)
Experience in healthcare or a regulated environment preferred
Demonstrated experience with:
Payroll processing and reconciliation
HRIS systems (Paylocity preferred)
Wage and hour compliance
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Advanced knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
Strong proficiency in Paylocity, including payroll, timekeeping, and reporting functions
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
Typical Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Position requires regular on-site presence
High level of accountability for payroll accuracy and deadlines
Frequent interaction with employees and leaders across clinical and administrative departments
Requires frequent change in position, including bending, stooping, standing, stretching, and walking and sitting, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
May involve lifting of up to 3040 pounds.
