Job DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARYLead and/or perform in Character themed shows following basic scripts and using improvisation during shows as needed. Must be a confident performer, who is capable of performing in front of, and engaging audiences in live-show activities. May involve performing basic dance routines and singing. Will perform in character costume. Encourage, recruit, register, and schedule guests to participate in various activities. Promote a fun, energized and comfortable atmosphere for guests. Provide information to guests about available recreation facilities and activities, including providing tours. Serve as Host for live events and activities. Explain and promote the rules and regulations of the facility intended for the safety and welfare of guests. Observe activity in the facility and respond appropriately in accordance with local operating procedure in the event of an emergency. Be aware of possible situations where guests are not able to safely participate in an activity and inform supervisor/manager. Prepare for show and clean and maintain equipment and supplies. Must have demonstrated experience in previous roles performing the following: accurately and consistently portray the pre-determined style, characteristics and mannerisms of each role without any deviation; perform inside bulky, hot costumes for long periods of time; maintain size and weight requirements based on costume's pre-determined size; work with large quantities of groups and children; stand for extended periods of time..Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures. Verify uniform and personal appearances are clean and professional. Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests' service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Prepare and review written documents accurately and completely; read and visually verify information in a variety of formats. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of employees. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects). Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance. Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces. Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Exposure to outdoor elements, wet and/or humid conditions as well as extreme heat/cold (non-environmental). Work near loud noises, around and in large crowds, and in tight and dark spaces, including in a large costume. Continual use of manual dexterity with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity. Maintain size and weight requirements based on costume's pre-determined size. Wear and carry special events props and gear for long periods of time. Perform inside bulky costume for long periods of time. Identify and distinguish colors.
