Construction Worker
About the Role
Muthler Landscaping is looking for dependable and hardworking Construction Workers to join our growing field team. This is a hands-on role for individuals who are experienced or eager to learn landscape construction, hardscape installation, site prep, excavation, drainage, and tree-related work. You’ll work on a wide variety of projects—retaining walls, patios, driveways, tree removals, grading, trenching, and more.
We are not a mow-and-go lawn company. If you want real work with real equipment—and want to learn how to run skid steers, build walls, and prep sites like a pro—this is the job.
Responsibilities
Assist in construction and installation of patios, retaining walls, steps, drainage systems, and excavation projects
Operate or support operation of skid steers, mini excavators, and other landscape construction equipment (training provided)
Load/unload materials such as pavers, gravel, topsoil, and timbers
Dig trenches, grade sites, and help with backfill, compaction, and cleanup
Follow directions from foreman or site supervisor to complete work efficiently
Maintain safe, clean job sites and assist in daily tool and equipment checks
Occasionally assist with snow removal, tree work, or seasonal maintenance tasks
Requirements
1+ year of experience in construction, landscaping, excavation, or related field preferred (will train the right person)
Strong work ethic and reliability—must show up on time, ready to work
Physically able to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly, bend, kneel, and work outdoors in all weather
Comfortable working with power tools, saws, shovels, and compact equipment
Driver’s license preferred (not required if reliable transportation is available)
Willingness to work long days during peak season and occasional weekends as needed
Preferred (but not required)
Experience with retaining walls, paver patios, or similar landscape installs
Experience operating a skid steer, mini excavator, or dump trailer
CDL or interest in obtaining one
OSHA 10/30 or hardscape certifications (ICPI, etc.)
