Ready to take the lead on complex construction projects?As a Building Inspector III, you'll oversee all phases of inspection, provide technical guidance,and serve as a trusted resource for code complianceWhat does a day "in the life" look like?Conduct full-scope inspections across all disciplines (building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and accessibility), including complex structures and final occupancy approvals.Review construction plans and field conditions to ensure compliance with approved documents, city codes, and adopted building standards.Interpret construction drawings and effectively communicate code requirements and solutions to contractors, property owners, and the public.Document inspection findings, maintain detailed records, and ensure accurate reporting of all project activities.Provide technical guidance and support to Building Inspectors I and II, helping coordinate workload and ensure consistent application of codes and standards.What are the minimum qualifications to be considered for this opportunity?Two(2) years of experience as a Building Inspector in a professional or governmental capacity.A High School diploma or GED equivalent.Three (3) years of experience in construction trades.Possess or obtain within one (1) year of hire date, all five (5) of the following inspection certifications and related certifications:International Code Council (ICC) Building, ICC Plumbing, ICC Electrical, ICC Residential, or ICC Mechanical. Certification must be current and maintained during term of employment. Additional licenses or certifications may be required for this position.Prefered Experience, Education And TrainingGraduation from an accredited technical school program.Possession of all five (5) of the following inspection certifications and related certifications: International Code Council (ICC) Building, ICC Plumbing, ICC Electrical, ICC Residential, or ICC Mechanical.Miscellaneous RequirementsBe at least 18 years of age.Be highly engaged in the department's goals and be able to work cooperatively with City of Branson leadership in achieving those goals.Demonstrate excellent customer service to the department's internal or external customers.A valid driver's license and be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position is required.Be able to pass a background investigation and drug and alcohol screenings.Why You'll Love Working Here: We offer more than just a paycheck we invest in you!
