Job SummaryThe Bar Apprentice will deliver a quality experience while maintaining a great energy and vibe. Assists theBartender in all opening, closing and nightly duties. Responsible for maintaining clean bars, stocking andcleanliness of silverware, glassware, and dishes and supplying service bar with food for a high-volume venue.Duties-ResponsibilitiesGreeting guests in a positive, friendly manner and making them feel welcomeExhibit proper menu knowledge and service delivery of both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages,and any menu items offeredComply with all state and federal liquor lawsMonitor potentially intoxicated and/or disruptive Guests and promptly bring to a manager's attentionMaintain a bar inventory, order product to maintain established levelsEnsure proper rotation of all liquor, beer, wine and consumable itemsClean all equipment, tools, and supplies and maintain equipment in good working orderKeep bar tops, floors, service areas, and POS station/s clean/free of dirty glasses, dirty ashtrays, trash,and any unnecessary items throughout shiftPolish and wash glassware throughout shiftPrepares all mixes and garnishesGets change for Bartender as neededAssist with loading/unloading of miscellaneous equipment, such as boxes, food and beverage productResponsible to ensure all stocking is complete, requisitions are filled out and any shortage of stock isreportedClean all spills immediatelyAnticipate the guests' needs and respond appropriatelyBid farewell to guests, using guest's name when known, and encourage them to returnPerform all opening and closing duties, based upon shift assignmentCommunicate effectively with management and service team members in order to fulfill and addressany issues or needs requested by guests and or other team membersConform to the department grooming standards, uniform or attire, and jewelry policyFollow all procedures and policies set forth by the company, division, department and all health andsafety regulations set by County health departmentPerform side work as assignedWork Experience & Knowledge-Education Background2-year experience as a bar apprentice in a similar work environment or 1-year experience in a finedining establishment requiredMust have a working knowledge of Spirits, Wine and FoodBasic computer skills and experience with POS systems and cash handling skillsLicense-Certificates:SNHD Food Handlers CardAlcohol Awareness CertGaming Registration (where required)Current, legal and unrestricted ability to work in The United StatesTalents-Abilities-Skills:Excellent time management skillsAbility to quickly become knowledgeable in current policies and practicesExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to clearly communicate in English with guests, management/co-workers, both in person and onthe telephonePositive attitude, self-motivated, energetic and is a willing learnerMust be able to print legibly for team members, management, and guests to readAbility to handle a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environmentProfessionally groomed in a manner consistent with department grooming standardsMust be 21 years of age to handle alcoholic beverages in the State of NevadaPhysical Requirements-Activities-Environmental Conditions:The work environment and physical demands described here reflect what team members experience whileperforming essential job functions.
