CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Prod Planning Planner II.Type: ContractJob Title: Prod Planning Planner IILocation: Hickory, NCPay Rate: $18.22 -$22.38/hourWork Hours: M-F 8am-5pmEducation: High School DiplomaDescriptionSupport position to plan, organize and control Supply Chain operations (Planning/Scheduling, Procurement, Packaging/Warehousing and Materials Controls) optimizing utilization of HCP's equipment, materials and manpower to provide premium customer service.This position will include a varying level of project work. Expect to participate in cross-functional teams within the plant and to enhance performance in areas such as: manufacturing efficiency, supply chain operations and customer service.Day to Day ResponsibilitiesUse strong system skills, analytical abilities and business knowledge to examine the effectiveness of manufacturing and Supply Chain operations and to communicate conclusions. Determine scope of improvement projects; initiate and lead improvement projects as necessary. Develop reports and analysis for continuous improvement.New system implementation projects and initiatives within the Supply Chain departmentSupport packaging and warehouse activities, including process improvements in shipping and receiving, optimizing warehouse storage solutions, improving packaging efficienciesCreate, modify, improve and support business reports and queries for Operations, Supply Chain, Finance and other functional groupsDirectly responsible for performing work in a safe manner and maintaining a safe work environment. Is responsible for his/her safety, as well as that of others that may be at the facility, whether working or visiting. Is responsible for observing safe work practices and being proactive for reporting any unsafe conditionsAnalyze internal and external processes (benchmarking) to maximize efficiency of function and systemsQualifications Required Skills:Proven analytical and project management skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsSolid problem-solving skills and decision-making skillsAbility to multi-task; effectively prioritize and manage projects, as well as day-to-day responsibilitiesStrong interpersonal skills with ability to interact across all functions (engineering, Supply Chain, etc) and at all levels of the organizationSelf-motivated with positive can-do attitude and strong work ethicAbility to use Microsoft Office software applications (Excel and Access) Desired Skills:2-5 years experience in supply chain. Degree in supply chain or APICS certification preferredExperience, training or certification Lean and/or Six Sigma/Performance Excellence. Green Belt certification preferredUnderstanding of Cable Products, Materials and Manufacturing processes.Knowledge and understanding of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
