I'm currently partnering with a well-established global manufacturer headquartered in the Chicago area that is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to join their corporate quality team.This organization has been an industry leader for more than a century and is recognized worldwide for designing and manufacturing highly engineered products used in commercial and institutional environments. They have a strong reputation for innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence, and continue to invest heavily in new product development and supply chain improvement initiatives.About the RoleThis is a highly visible role reporting to the Global Supplier Quality Manager and offers the opportunity to lead supplier quality initiatives across both new product development and existing production programs.The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Suppliers to ensure purchased components meet quality requirements, resolve supplier issues, and drive continuous improvement throughout the supply base.Key ResponsibilitiesLead supplier quality activities for new product development and production programsOwn APQP and PPAP processes, including PFMEA and control plansInvestigate supplier nonconformances and drive root cause/corrective actionsAnalyze supplier performance metrics such as defect rates and scrap trendsConduct supplier audits and on-site process evaluationsSupport engineering change management and product launchesChampion incoming inspection process improvements and standardizationCollaborate cross-functionally on CAPA and quality improvement initiativesPotentially manage 1–3 quality team membersTravel domestically and internationally approximately 10–20%QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field5+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or Quality EngineeringStrong background in problem solving, statistics, and root cause analysisExperience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and supplier corrective actionsNew Product Development / New Product Introduction experiencePreferred QualificationsASQ CertificationSix Sigma Black BeltGD&T knowledgeISO standards experienceCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salaryAnnual incentive/bonus opportunityComprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with immediate vesting and company matchTuition reimbursementGenerous PTO and paid holidaysHybrid work flexibility (~3 days in office)
