SQL Server DBAAustin, TX (Onsite 4-5 days/week) local only.Long-Term ContractPreferred state exp8+ years of SQL Server DBA experience with strong expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, backup & recovery, security, SSIS/ETL, SSRS, Azure SQL, migrations/upgrades, job scheduling, and troubleshooting in large-scale environments.Candidates must be located in the Austin area at the time of submission.Looking for an experienced SQL Server DBA to support and maintain a large-scale database environment. This role will be responsible for ensuring the performance, stability, and security of over 100 SQL Server databases across multiple servers.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor database performance and system health (CPU, memory, I/O)Identify and optimize slow-running queries, indexes, and execution plansReview SQL Server and Windows logs to detect and resolve issuesManage SQL Server Agent jobs, alerts, and scheduled tasksTroubleshoot SSRS reporting issues and provide production supportHandle user access, permissions, and database securitySupport database migrations and upgrades across SQL Server versionsPerform backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activitiesConduct index analysis and manage storage/space utilizationWork with teams on ETL processes and SSIS package updatesAssist developers with query tuning, schema design, and code reviewsParticipate in team meetings and documentation/knowledge sharing Required Qualifications8+ years of SQL Server DBA experienceStrong experience with performance tuning and query optimizationHands-on experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recoveryExperience with SQL Server security and access controlSolid knowledge of SSIS and ETL processesExperience with SQL Server Agent and job schedulingStrong troubleshooting and log analysis skillsExperience with database migrations and upgradesFamiliarity with SSRS reportingExperience with Azure SQL and cloud environments Preferred Experience in large enterprise environmentsStrong communication and collaboration skillsAbility to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
