Material Handler
Location: Memphis, TN 38127 (Onsite)
Shift: 1st Shift (Day Shift)
Schedule: 10-hour shifts (6:00 AM – 4:00 PM), rotating schedule with alternate Saturdays required
Pay Rate: $25.00/hr
Job Summary
Arkema is seeking a Material Handler to support shipping and warehouse operations at its Memphis facility. This role is responsible for safely moving tank wagons and trailers for loading, unloading, and staging while assisting with warehouse operations related to hydrogen peroxide shipments. The ideal candidate will have experience operating trucks and trailers, a valid driver's license, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
Shunter / Yard Operations (70%)
Safely operate a shunt truck to move trailers, tank wagons, and containers throughout the yard.
Couple and uncouple trailers and isotainers.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers.
Identify and report equipment issues, damages, and maintenance needs.
Enter repair notifications and coordinate tire replacements when necessary.
Communicate effectively with warehouse, logistics, and supply chain personnel to ensure efficient trailer movement.
Maintain compliance with safety policies and operational procedures.
Warehouse Operations (30%)
Prepare chemical samples for shipment.
Fill drums and totes for customer orders.
Assist with loading and unloading products.
Prepare materials, parts, and supplies for shipment.
Maintain warehouse organization and inventory accuracy.
Learn warehouse data entry processes and support warehouse operations.
Support general shipping and logistics activities as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid Driver’s License required.
Minimum 1 year of experience operating trucks, trailers, or similar equipment.
Experience backing and maneuvering long trailers is highly preferred.
Ability to safely operate vehicles in confined spaces.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Willingness to work overtime and rotating schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
DOT (Department of Transportation) training.
HazMat training or experience handling hazardous materials.
Previous warehouse, logistics, shipping, or distribution experience.
