Overview In this role you oversee maintenance, reliability, and design of utility systems and buildings to support manufacturing of medicines. You will provide technical oversight for project execution and drive improvements to power plant utility reliability. You will collaborate with contractors and cross-functional teams to optimize cost, performance, and safety, shaping critical infrastructure for global health impact. You’ll lead initiatives from planning through completion, delivering reliable electrical systems and compliant operations. Compensation / Benefits401(k) plan with Pfizer Matching ContributionsPfizer Retirement Savings Contributionpaid vacationholiday and personal dayscaregiver/ parental and medical leavemedical, prescription, dental and vision coverage ResponsibilitiesOversee maintenance and reliability engineering activities for utility systems, buildings, and equipmentProvide technical oversight for project execution plans and engineering studies for installations, modifications, and replacementsDevelop detailed designs for site electrical infrastructure expansion and reliability improvements (CHP turbines, emergency generators, MV/LV distribution, UPS)Review electrical construction specifications and design packages for new or renovated projectsCollaborate with contractors, architects, and consultants to optimize cost, performance, and reliabilityLead or co-lead projects and manage execution from planning to completionProvide cross-functional leadership in project management, prioritization, forecasting, and resource allocationDevelop scopes of work, execution strategies, and supporting studiesManage workloads to meet objectives and timelinesPlan and coordinate short-term engineering and maintenance activitiesIdentify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintenance effectivenessSupport preventive maintenance strategies and asset reliability initiativesParticipate in RCFA investigations and update reliability plansProvide technical support for process and equipment improvementsUtilize broad engineering knowledge to develop innovative solutionsProvide technical support for field activities including data collection and electrical drawings updatesOffer guidance to operations and maintenance for reliable system performanceEnsure compliance with SOPs, cGMP, quality standards, OSHA, safety, and regulatory requirementsMaintain calibration and maintenance activities per GxP and industry best practicesPromote safe design and operations through safety assessments and site proceduresFoster a safety-oriented culture across engineering, maintenance, and operationsResolve moderately complex issues independently and navigate ambiguityExercise judgment to develop practical and innovative solutionsReview personal work for accuracy and quality and seek guidance when neededMentor colleagues through coaching and knowledge sharingParticipate in site and corporate initiatives (CoPs, LDTs, cross-functional programs) Key requirementsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 4+ years of experience OR Master’s degree with 2+ years OR PhD with 0+ years OR Associate’s degree with 8 years OR high school diploma with 10 years of relevant experienceExperience in electrical, plant utility systems design and layout (electrical, standby, emergency and UPS power systems, grounding, lightning protection, low voltage distribution)Experience with underground distribution and medium-voltage substationsExperience in master planning, design, installation, and operation of central utility systemsExperience in electrical power studies (voltage drop, short-circuit/OC coordination, arc flash)Knowledge of electrical and energy codes (NFPA70E, NEC, NEMA, IEEE, UL, LEED)Ability to work across operations and maintenance teamsStrong verbal and written communication skillsPreferred: SAP, project management, regulatory compliance in pharma, strong analytical skills, adaptability, AI tool usage (ChatGPT, Copilot)collaborationcommunicationadaptabilityElectrical power systems designMedium-voltage substationsUPS and standby power systems
