Job SummaryThe Sr. Operations Geologist delivers accurate, timely geological insights to support safe, efficient, and repeatable well execution across the full well lifecycle. This role is the primary geological contact during operations, integrating subsurface data with drilling, completions, reservoir, and asset development objectives to optimize well placement, reduce risk, and improve performance consistency.Key ResponsibilitiesPre-Drill PlanningDevelop geoprogs, well plans, and target mapsInterpret logs, seismic, and offset data to forecast formationsDefine targets, formation tops, and steering strategiesIdentify risks and geohazards; recommend mitigationEnsure high-quality, on-time pre-drill deliverablesDrilling OperationsLead real-time geosteering and geological interpretationOptimize wellbore placement to maximize reservoir exposureMonitor LWD/MWD, mud logs, and gas dataProvide clear operational updates and recommendationsEscalate risks and key decisions in a timely mannerPost-Drill AnalysisEvaluate performance vs. prognosis (zone placement, lateral quality)Identify drivers of performance and recommend improvementsDocument lessons learned to enhance repeatabilitySupport post-well reviews and offset analysesCompletions & Development SupportInform completions design and interval selectionPartner cross-functionally to integrate subsurface insightsSupport reservoir studies and development optimizationCollaboration & CommunicationServe as geological point of contact for assigned wellsWork closely with cross-functional teamsCommunicate insights clearly to technical and leadership audiencesPromote accountability and continuous improvementTechnical Standards & Data ManagementMaintain high-quality, consistent geological dataSupport improvements in workflows, tools, and data systemsEnsure data integrity and accessibility across platformsRequired Qualifications:Bachelors in geology or related (required)8+ experience requiredFamiliarity with industry standard geologic and data analysis software packages requiredStarsteer 'power user' requiredPreferred Qualifications:10+ yr's experience preferredMaster's in Geoology preferredAnadarko basin experience preferred
