Job Title: Locum - Physician - General Medicine KY Are you a dedicated General Medicine Physician seeking flexible, impactful work while serving our nation's Veterans? Join VHS as a Locum Physician in Kentucky and play a vital role in delivering essential Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments. This opportunity offers a meaningful way to contribute to veteran healthcare without long-term commitments, all while enjoying competitive compensation and professional support. In this role, you will conduct interview-based assessments and some physical examinations within your own office, serving Veteran clients within a 50-mile radius of Paducah, KY. The position is hybrid, flexible on a PRN basis, with options for half-day or full-day shifts. You will be essential in facilitating one-time, non-treatment exams, ensuring timely and accurate reports for our Veterans. Required Skills: MD or DO license with current certificationBackground in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicineExperience with Compensation and Pension assessments preferredExcellent communication skills and ability to perform interview-based evaluationsPhysically capable of performing range of motion and muscle strength testingNice to Have Skills: Prior experience with military veterans or VA-related assessmentsFamiliarity with medical documentation and report submissionAbility to work independently and manage timely documentationPreferred Education and Experience: Medical degree from an accredited institutionActive medical license in KentuckyProven experience in general medicine or veteran assessmentsKnowledge of VA protocols and procedures is a plusOther Requirements: Must own and operate a private office within the specified area; travel included in pay rateWillingness to complete required training promptlyNo prescribing or treatment involvedAdministrative follow-up work such as addendums and reports, to be performed within the daily or half-day ratesNo reimbursement for certifications or portal training prior to onboardingThis is a fantastic chance to make a difference and enjoy a flexible schedule with excellent pay.
