Batch Maker/Compounder

DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Batch Maker/Compounder to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and mixing raw materials according to established formulas while adhering to safety and quality standards. This role is essential in ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of our operations.General SummaryResponsible for the mixing, blending, weighing and pouring of raw materials into appropriate blenders/tanks. Responsible for cleaning the blenders/tanks and associated equipment.Primary Responsibilities Follows SOPs and cGMP’s pertaining to blending and cleaning operations. Uses inventory management system via computer to obtain raw material requisition for batches. Weighs raw materials according to batch records. Dispenses raw materials into appropriate Tank, Kettle or Blender. Documents activities into appropriate batch records of associated documents. Cleans work areas. Returns raw materials to inventory storage locations. Visually inspects product for defects/non-conformances while mixing/blending. Notify supervisor of unusual material or operating problems. Washes and cleans blenders, suites and other related equipment used in weighing and blending of material. Works in accordance with all company policies and procedures. Follows proper health and safety guidelines (i.e. PPE, safety regulations, etc.). Perform other duties and special assignments as assigned. Housekeeping. Maintain and keep work area according to cGMP’s.RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:Education And/or Experience High school diploma or equivalent Ability to read and write English Basic math skills 1-3 years’ experience in blending/batch mixing powders General computer skills Current fork lift license or ability to obtain within 30 days BS degree in Chemistry or related (Minimum of 2 years of Laboratory course work) 0-6 years’ experience in a Quality Control lab environmentTrainingOn the job training: SDS/Hazardous Awareness cGMP appropriate SOPs per department requirementsReasoning Ability Attention to detail Ability to perform basic math calculationsWork Environment Regularly exposed to elements such as odor, noise, dust, chemicals Requires long periods of standing (85-100%) Medium to high noise level Temperature controlled environment Ability to lift boxes, containers and drums up to 75 pounds on a daily basisTools And Equipment Fork Lift, hand truck Scales Calculator Computer Powder mills, sifters and blenders Automated production line including fillers and cappers Appropriate personnel protective equipment (when necessary) including dust masksPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
