General Manager - Restaurant & Social Venue

Intro:KD Sweetwater Services is partnering with a leading San Diego hospitality group to find a hands-on General Manager for two connected Gaslamp-area venues: a high-volume flagship restaurant with a rooftop dining experience and a smaller social/event-driven concept next door.This is a strong opportunity for a floor-focused operator who loves hospitality, leads with urgency, develops people, and knows how to balance guest experience with financial performance.The ideal GM is not someone who wants to manage from the office. This role needs a visible, action-oriented leader who can run service, support the team, connect with guests, drive events, and treat the business like their own.The What:You’ll oversee two distinct but connected venues, ensuring both receive the leadership, attention, and operational consistency they deserve. The flagship location is a vibrant, high-volume restaurant known for energetic service, creative food and beverage, and a rooftop experience. The adjacent venue adds another layer of guest engagement through social events, group business, and memorable activations.The Who:A successful General Manager in this role will be able to:Lead from the floor with a strong MOD presenceCreate memorable guest experiences and build repeat businessDevelop managers, hourly team members, and future leadersOwn financial performance, including labor, COGS, budgets, EBITDA, and P&L awarenessDrive revenue through service standards, events, training, and promotionsStay flexible as systems, processes, and priorities evolveBring ideas forward confidently and explain how they would execute themBalance administrative responsibilities without losing sight of the guest or teamKeep both venues moving forward, not just the larger flagship operationIdeal Background5+ years of AGM or GM experience in high-volume restaurants, nightlife, social venues, or private eventsExperience with restaurants generating roughly $7M-$10M+ in annual volumeStrong people-development skillsComfortable working nights, weekends, and holidaysTech-savvy and comfortable using modern tools and systemsFinancially literate with budgeting, reporting, labor, and cost-control experienceSports knowledge or an interest in social/competitive guest experiences is a plusSchedule & CompensationThis is a full-time salaried leadership role, typically structured around five 10-hour days, with two days off.Compensation includes a base salary of $100,000-$110,000, plus quarterly bonus potential tied to financial and non-financial performance goals.The Why and the HowYou will not be left on an island. This person will be part of an established leadership team with support from operations, ownership, and existing venue leaders. The group is looking for someone who can bring structure, energy, accountability, and hospitality to an already successful operation while helping the next phase of growth take shape.
