Material Handler I (Mon-Fri 7:00am - 3:30pm)

DescriptionThe function of a Material Handler is to process parts through the organization both physically and through the WMS system of record. Material Handlers handle a variety of materials and products. Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signals machine operators to move materials onto and off trucks and loading docks. Keeps inventory, loading areas, and machinery clean.RequirementsKey Responsibilities and Duties:Use hand truck, dollies or pallet jack equipment to move material or freight in the warehouse-storage facility.Two-man/ yard jobs supportUnload merchandise or product as they get inboundLoad merchandise or product that is being outboundWeight merchandise or product, get measurements(DIMS)Receive, unpack, check and verify merchandise or product, to ensure accuracy.Take Receiving Exceptions as neededUse handhelds RF tools to receive merchandise or product into WMSConduct: stock checks, part number verification, Cycle Counts, support physical inventoryConsolidate loads as requiredPack, re-pack & wrap product for shippingConsolidate partial pallets into full pallets for location/inventory consolidationLabel parts as needed during put away, picking or shipping processPick parts for: order fulfillment, shipments, scrap request, etc.Pack & shrink wrap orders or outgoing shipmentsStrap pallets or boxes as neededStage completed orders or shipments to staging areaEnsure that orders and shipping material is accompanied with proper delivery documents: Revised BOL, Packing slip, Manual tag, etc.Inform lead/supervisor on a timely manner about OSD (Overages, shortages & damage) found while picking orders or shipmentsEnsure compliance with all company policies, procedures and safety guidelinesComplete paperwork thoroughly and promptlyPerform housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean & safe work environmentAssist other team as neededCross-train as needed to learn other warehouse functionsMay performs a variety of tasks related to warehousingComplete other duties as assignedAbilitiesAttention to detailTake ownership of assigned task and complete in a timely mannerIntegrityDemonstrate ability to interact well with others and follow instruction.Flexibility and ability to adjust to sudden changes in operational goals.Must be able to stand, walk, use hands to handle objects, or reach with hands and arms, climb ladders, kneel, and crouch.Must be able to lift and move items up to 50 lbs. unassisted while using safe lifting techniques.Qualifications & Skills NeededHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum 1- 2 years Warehouse and Logistics experience.Prior Forklift Certification, with 1- 2 years’ forklift experience.Customer and Quality focused.LEAN understanding with ability to fully execute 5S and 7S.Great communication skills.Understanding of logistics, shipping, receiving, and standard work instruction protocolsStrong math and writing skillsDetail oriented.Able to work independently.High sense of accuracyAssertive, able to meet high volume and demand.Basic Computer skills with knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.Knowledge of Inventory control.Excellent time management.RK QualitiesAdherence to all RK Safety, Quality, ISO and HR policies and standardsRK Logistics Group will consider qualified applicants with a criminal history pursuant to the California Fair Chance Act.
