Job Title: Manager of Programs & Events Location: Lewisburg, Tennessee Start Date: Immediate Type: Full-Time Salary: Starting at $40,000 annually, commensurate with experience Benefits: Paid Time Off (PTO), Insurance Reimbursement, Paid Holidays Reports To: CEO About Us: The Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders' & Exhibitors' Association (TWHBEA) is a well-established, non-profit organization located in Lewisburg, TN. We are dedicated to promoting and preserving the heritage, standards, and versatility of the Tennessee Walking Horse. We operate with a small, close-knit office staff and are currently seeking a dedicated and highly organized individual to join our team. Position Summary: The Manager of Programs & Events is a dynamic and integral role, responsible for the administration, coordination, and consistent application of all TWHBEA member programs. This position plays a key role in member service and program execution. If you thrive in a small office environment and are passionate about the equine or livestock industry, this could be a great fit for you. Key Responsibilities: Maintain program rules, applications, deadlines, and records Ensure consistent application of eligibility requirements and policies Serve as primary staff contact for program-related inquiries Coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate reporting and awards Provide oversight and coordination for key TWHBEA programs: Member & Recognition Programs (Master Breeders, Hall of Fame, High Points, etc.) Youth & Education Programs Breeding & Incentive Programs Versatility & Discipline Programs International Programs Assist in event management for TWHBEA-produced events Annual Meeting & Semi-Annual Meeting Awards Banquet World Versatility Championship Lunch With the Legends “Here’s to the Horse” Legislative Reception Youth Judging ContestQualifications: High School Diploma or GED required Minimum 1-2 years of relevant association management, program management, or event planning/coordination experience Experience or knowledge of the equine or livestock industry is strongly preferred Experience interpreting policies, rules, or eligibility criteria preferred Nonprofit, association, or membership organization experience a plus Skills & Abilities: Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Highly organized with strong attention to detail Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong interpersonal skills; comfortable interacting with members, stakeholders, and the general public Capable of working independently and as part of a team Willingness to learn and take initiative in a fast-paced office environment Physical Requirements This position may occasionally require light physical activity, including lifting and carrying materials up to 50 pounds, assisting with event setup or breakdown, and handling printed materials or supplies.
