Material Handler- 1st Shift

As a Material Handler on the 1st Shift at New Flyer, you will be a key player in our manufacturing process, ensuring a seamless flow of materials to support production. Your responsibilities will include receiving, storing, and distributing materials to various departments, as well as maintaining an organized and efficient work area. A strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork is essential in this role.What you will do:Maintain a safe work environment; adhere to safety policies, procedures, and processesOperate forklifts, walkie riders, and other material handling equipment to transport parts to the production floorSet up and organize material storage racks, bins, and carts to prevent damage or loss of materialsCreate and maintain drop areas for part deliveries and effectively manage inventoryAssist assembly workers by lifting and moving materials as needed on the production floorConduct accurate counts of materials and participate in cycle counts as directedReport any issues with materials, including damaged or rejected parts, to the leadership teamFollow work direction from department leaders and contribute to team objectivesMonday through Friday 6:30am to 3:00pm RequirementsPrevious experience in material handling, warehouse, or shipping/receiving roles is essentialForklift operation experience is requiredConsistent work history demonstrating longevityStrong written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions accuratelyAble to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentDetail-oriented with strong organizational skillsMust be able to pass a pre- employment physical.
