Job Purpose
Godshall’s Quality Meats Inc. is an employee-owned company producing premium smoked meat products for the US and international markets. We are currently looking for a 1st Shift R&D Operations Supervisor to join our team!
The R&D Operations Supervisor coordinates all operational activities in the R&D Center. They are responsible for scheduling and execution of all areas of production. They are also responsible to maintaining the proper paperwork to support our USDA grant of inspection.
Duties and Responsibilities
Primary job duties and responsibilities include:
Schedule weekly production to support new recipes
Oversee and report on product testing and shelf life
Support lab operations and be a resource as necessary
Maintain a clean and organized test kitchen
Facilitate weekly review meetings for products and projects
Maintain the necessary inventory to support production
Perform quarterly inventories
Order proteins and supplies to support operations
Maintain the necessary paperwork and QA functions to support our USDA grant of inspection
Work cross functionally with plant managers and schedulers to accomplish trials and tests
Support the sales team with products and recipes for our customers
Lead the R&D team members
Continue to grow in meat technology
Manage projects to completion and keep impacted parties informed
Maintain proper sanitation of equipment and facilities

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications required to successfully perform the job include:
Bachelors Degree in food science or relevant experience
Must be detail oriented and have basic mathematics skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office programs
Excellent problem solving and organizational skills.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Focus on long-term success / forward-thinking strategist
Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees in the organization
Working conditions
Various conditions including office, warehouse, lab and production facilities. Working conditions will include extended periods in cold and wet meat processing environment requiring protective clothing. Position includes occasional travel to both the Telford and Lebanon plants.
Physical requirements
Must be able to perform extensive walking and standing throughout the shift and on a daily basis. May need to lift up to 50 pounds.
