Senior Manager, State and Local Tax in Financial Services

In this position, you will assess clients' state and local tax liabilities and offer strategies that align with their business objectives while ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.Our dedicated team transforms risks and compliance issues related to state and local taxes into competitive advantages for our financial services clients. As a Senior Manager, you will tackle critical topics such as abandoned and unclaimed property, income and franchise tax, payroll and employment tax, credits and incentives, and indirect tax.In this role, you will guide a team of problem solvers committed to addressing complex business challenges from strategy to execution. You will lead significant projects, innovate processes, and uphold exceptional standards of operational excellence while cultivating robust relationships with clients and stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:Lead significant tax-related projects and drive process innovation.Achieve operational excellence in project execution.Engage with clients at a senior level to ensure successful outcomes.Build and sustain strong client relationships.Mentor and develop team members to foster their professional growth.Evaluate and recommend effective solutions for state and local tax issues.Ensure adherence to all relevant tax laws and regulations.Communicate local tax updates and essential information to clients effectively.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Taxation.A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.Professional certifications such as CPA, Member of the Bar, or other relevant credentials are preferred.Preferred Qualifications:Master's Degree.Strong understanding of partnership tax compliance and public accounting practices.Experience in preparing partnership tax forms including K-1s, FAS 109, and FIN 48.Ability to identify and effectively address client needs.Proficient in developing meaningful client interactions and relationships.Awareness of and understanding firm services and offerings.Ability to convey complex information in an organized and knowledgeable manner.Experience with automation and digitization in professional services.Innovative mindset to leverage emerging technologies effectively.If you are ready to make a significant impact and advance your career in a supportive and forward-thinking environment, we encourage you to apply.
