Supervisor Renewable Maintenance
Job SummaryDirect and manage renewable facility maintenance and on-site operations activities in order to optimize availability, reliability, and generation output across various types of renewable or storage technologies including solar photovoltaic generation. This role oversees safety, front line workers, contractors, compliance, and cost for direct site activities.Essential FunctionsSupervise a team of union front line workers performing preventative and corrective maintenance on plant systems and equipment.Ensures all OHSA, NERC, NFPA, federal, state, and other applicable codes and regulations are followed during the design, construction, repair, and operation of equipment.Maintain a safe work environment across all sites by enforcing company safety standard and any contractor safety programs.Conduct pre-job safety briefs for all assigned work. Inform employees of safety rules and regulations and consistently enforce them.Verify all work performed is done in compliance with environmental permits and procedures. Emphasize and ensure the commitment to performing all work in compliance within environmental procedures with all crafts and contractors. Investigate, document, and report safety and environmental incidents in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.Coordinate with other departments (internal/external) to develop effective repair strategies and maintenance schedules. This includes but is not limited to: OEM equipment, substations, collection systems, roads, vegetation, meteorological towers & stations, and other site infrastructure as applicable.Assign scheduled and emergency maintenance activities to personnel within the department. Determine and manage when additional resources, overtime or contracted services are required.Administer the Employee Productivity Guidelines, Code of Conduct, and the collective bargaining agreement. Ensure all contractors are properly qualified, registered, and compliant with contractual and company requirements.Inform employees of work performance standards and expectations. Perform employee performance reviews for applicable employees aligned with specified timelines.Develop budget requests for plant equipment, systems maintenance, and capital improvements. Submit initiatives that define the project purpose, scope, estimated cost, and benefits. Follow through with implementation of approved projects.Monitor module, inverter, tracking systems, balance-of-plant, and/or SCADA performance; identify abnormal conditions and coordinate corrective actions.Provide weekly and monthly operations, performance, and compliance reporting for assigned facilities.Review, validate, and approve contractor invoices, service reports, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with budgeted expectations.Utilizing the company’s Work Management System and Cost Control System, control and track department expenses to operate within budget. Report expenses on a pre-determined basis. Forecast the cost at completion for jobs in progress or planned future projects.Assumes standby or on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis or other pre-established basis. Responds to emergency calls outside of his or her normal work schedule on a regular basis.Trains and evaluates employees in the proper use of tools, machinery, maintenance procedures and practices, and safe work practices.Assist operating departments in monitoring equipment and troubleshooting abnormal operating conditions.
