If this sounds like you, we should talk.Job SummaryWe are seeking a Department Of War (DoW) Business Development Director to lead the sales capture efforts. The ideal candidate should be accustomed to DoW sales capture process, working in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys working on new space technologies.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement capture management strategies for U.S. Government (USG) programsGenerate Department Of War (DoW) based pipeline through early shaping and acquisition strategyDefine USG-based growth targets and execute sameLead development and writing of comprehensive proposals, responses to USG solicitations, and presentations to USG customersAssess competitor capabilities and offerings to understand the competitiveness of Momentus market position and offerings. Generate compelling win strategies/themesSupport the creation of various metrics and dashboards leveraging company CRM toolsRequired Skills and ExperienceBackground in Space Related Technologies (In-Space Transport, Spacecraft design, Propulsion, etc.)Experience leading campaigns as Business Development Lead or Capture Manager, or experienced in a USG space acquisition organizationEstablished Department Of War (DoW), Pentagon, and/or inter-agency relationships. Examples US Space Force, NRO, MDA, etc.USG contracting experience: knowledge of contract management, source selection processes, and competitive proposal evaluationsPersuasive and articulate communication style to establish and maintain rapport with internal and external stakeholdersExcellent organizational skills for tracking customers, leading complex proposal efforts, and meeting aggressive proposal deadlinesProficient in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and ExcelAbility to work independently.Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teamsExcellent technical communications skills.Good written and verbal communication skills.Desired Skills and Experience:Experience with proposal and/or technical writingDemonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines while producing quality work productsPrevious experience working on DoW and other USG development and deployment programsAbility to hold and maintain a USG Security Clearance or active TS/SCI clearanceProficiency with industry best practices for proposal & capture methodsKnowledge of FARs and DFARsKnowledge of trade compliance (ITAR/EAR)Education & Work Experience:BS Degree in Engineering, Business, or relatedPreferred: MS Degree in Engineering, Physics, or MBA15+ years relevant experience in a USG-facing Business Development role or in a USG space acquisition organizationRequired experience closely related & discipline to spaceThe ability to travel when requiredCompensation:Annual Base Salary Range: $175,000 to $200,000/per year Base pay is one part of our total compensation package (base+bonus+equity) and is determined within a range. Your actual base salary will be determined on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Our benefit plans include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k retirement plan, short and long term disability and life insurance. We also offer flexible PTO, along with 11 paid holidays, sick time and paid parental leave.This is a full-time position in San Jose, California, Hybrid, or Remote. This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services.
