Ammonia Refrigeration Engineer

Title:  Ammonia Refrigeration EngineerLocation: Norfolk, VASalary Range: $95K - $135K (depending on experience and licensure)We are seeking a seasoned Ammonia Refrigeration Engineer to join our engineering team in Norfolk, VA. This role will support the design, operation, and optimization of industrial refrigeration systems, with a focus on ammonia-based systems. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical foundation, hands-on problem-solving ability, and experience working in manufacturing or industrial environments.Key Responsibilities:Design, analyze, and optimize ammonia refrigeration systems for industrial facilitiesSupport installation, commissioning, and startup of refrigeration equipment and systemsTroubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions to ensure reliability and efficiencyCollaborate with operations, maintenance, and project teams to support ongoing system performanceConduct system performance evaluations and recommend improvements for energy efficiency and safetyEnsure compliance with all safety standards, codes, and regulations related to ammonia systemsDevelop and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and specificationsSupport capital projects, system upgrades, and continuous improvement initiativesQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related fieldMinimum 2+ years of experience working with ammonia refrigeration systemsEngineer in Training (EIT) certification (preferred)5+ years of experience with a Professional Engineer (PE) license (strongly preferred)Experience in industrial or manufacturing environmentsStrong understanding of refrigeration cycles, thermodynamics, and system controlsFamiliarity with applicable safety codes and standards (IIAR, OSHA, etc.)Proficiency with CAD tools and engineering analysisStrong troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skillsBenefitsCompetitive SalaryPaid Time OffPaid Holidays Email Your Resume In Word ToNate.Paules@CyberCoders.comLooking forward to receiving your resume through our website and going over the position with you.
