Job Details Job ID: 5735510 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: May 23, 2026 2:11 AM (UTC) Job Description POSITION PURPOSE: This position was established to direct the district fine and performing arts program (instrumental, vocal, and general music, theater, visual arts, dance) and related activities, ensuring that program components maximize the arts experience of every student; providing information and serving as a resource to others; defining objectives by planning, evaluating, developing, implementing, and maintaining assigned services in compliance with established guidelines; and serving as a member of the leadership team. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Analyzes student and program related data to provide information related to student and program achievement, evaluate program effectiveness, and support strategic planning. Collaborates with employees, parents, administrators, support organizations, and others to ensure activities meet student, program, and district objectives effectively and timely. Conducts needs assessments to ensure district curriculum and professional development needs are met. Directs district-wide fine and performing arts activities and processes (e.g., calendar, transportation, field-trip requests, literature and equipment inventories, repair and acquisition, fine and performing arts facilities, set and equipment warehousing) to ensure all programs proceed effectively and efficiently according to the district strategic plan. Supervises the development of curriculum integration solutions and related work and instructional aids to provide users with tools needed to utilize emerging curriculum integration strategies to enhance student learning. Facilitates the review and selection of textbooks and related instructional aids to provide quality materials that meet district, state, and federal standards. Assists principals in recruiting outstanding fine and performing arts teachers and assists administrators with personnel administrative functions (e.g., selecting, counseling, training, supervising, and evaluating) to maintain staffing, enhance productivity, and achieve program goals. Maintains digital files, documents, and records (e.g., reports, logs, databases, agreements, licenses, copyrights, state and local reporting) to document activities, provide written references, and comply with mandated requirements. Participates in meetings, workshops, and trainings to convey and gather information required to perform job functions. Supports teachers with operational and instructional materials (e.g., model lessons, recommendations, lesson plans, reports, instructions, policy memos) to assist instructional programming, document activities, and provide written reference. Represents the district and its fine and performing arts programs in collaboration with external stakeholders to promote positive relations and enhance educational services. Researches exemplary fine and performing arts programs to inform progress toward the district vision. Participates in interviewing, evaluating, training, supervising, and counseling staff as appropriate. Attends and actively participates in professional association meetings and conferences at local, county, state, and national levels. Researches, writes, and presents grant information to secure funding needed to meet program needs. Researches curriculum integration methods and materials to meet the district master plan for student achievement and curriculum integration, including cross-curricular activities connecting Fine and performing arts to core classrooms. Supports teachers by visiting classrooms and offering feedback to enhance understanding and application of curriculum plans and materials. ADDITIONAL DUTIES Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Chief Instructional Services Officer, Superintendent, or other district office administrator. QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in educational administration or a related field preferred. At least three years of experience in a leadership role at district or school level. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in using Microsoft Office Suite. Effective communication in writing and orally with a wide variety of people. Ability to conduct and analyze educational research. EXPERIENCE Minimum of a master's degree in education.
