Job DescriptionEstimating Manager – Electric Power ConstructionLocation: DeForest, WI or Commerce City, COSalary: $100,000–$150,000Employment Type: Full-Time | In-OfficePosition OverviewWe are partnering with an established electrical construction organization that is expanding its electric power operations and building a dedicated estimating function.The company is seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to help lead estimating and preconstruction efforts for electric power construction projects.Unlike the Estimator opening, this is not an entry point into the electric power industry. Previous electric power estimating experience is required. The ideal candidate will bring experience estimating transmission, distribution, substation, utility, or related power infrastructure projects.This is a newly created position and an opportunity to play an important role in developing a dedicated estimating function as the organization continues to grow.ResponsibilitiesLead and support estimating efforts for electric power construction projectsPrepare and review detailed project estimates, budgets, and bid packagesPerform and oversee quantity takeoffs and labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricingReview project drawings, specifications, scopes, and bid documentsEvaluate project risks, constructability, scope gaps, and estimating assumptionsCoordinate with project management, operations, preconstruction, engineering, and field teamsReview CAD and BIM drawings and other technical project documentationMaintain detailed estimating information and cost dataSupport bid reviews and estimate handoffs to project teamsHelp establish and improve estimating processes, standards, and toolsContribute to the continued development of a dedicated electric power estimating teamQualificationsPrevious electric power estimating experience requiredExperience within transmission, distribution, substations, utilities, power delivery, or related electrical infrastructureStrong understanding of electrical construction estimating and preconstructionAbility to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentationExperience developing detailed labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor estimatesStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to collaborate with project management, engineering, preconstruction, operations, and field personnelDegree strongly preferredTwo-year degree will be consideredSignificant electrical linework, lineman, or relevant field training may substitute for formal educationPreferred Technical ExperienceMicrosoft Excel — strong proficiencyBluebeamPrimavera P6CAD drawing interpretationBIM drawing interpretationConstruction estimating and takeoff softwareCompensation & LocationBase salary: $100,000–$150,000Position can be based in DeForest, Wisconsin or Commerce City, ColoradoIn-office positionOccasional work-from-home flexibility may be available, but there is no formal hybrid scheduleRelocation assistance may be available and is evaluated on a case-by-case basis
