Per Diem Substitute Teachers 2026/2027

We are seeking per diem substitute teachers for the Burlington Public Schools for the 2026/2027 school year.If you love working with children of all ages, we welcome your application! Substitute teachers provide an important service to ensure that our students continue to progress in their academics in the absence of their classroom teacher.Expectations Include:Provide students with appropriate learning activities in the academic subject areaCarry out the absent teacher's prepared lesson plans and any special duties assigned by the building PrincipalUse the absent teacher's classroom discipline plan and give specific directions about desired behaviorConsult with the administration and/or staff to resolve any questions/concernsComply with all building and district-wide procedures and schedulesProvide a summary for the absent teacher at the end of the day of work completed and any special situations encounteredDemonstrated commitment to the District and our students by accepting a minimum of 10 assignments over the school yearRequirements:60 or more college hours verified via an official college transcript, Associates Degree, or equivalentEffective communication skills, both verbal and writtenStrong preference will be given to those with experience working with children, and who are available for all levels and able to work throughout the school yearCompensation:$110 per day.
