About the Opportunity As a Solutions Engineer, you will partner closely with government finance and accounting teams to design, implement, and support technical solutions that modernize financial reporting, Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports (ACFR) preparation, and disclosure management across public-sector organizations.
In this role, you will help agencies improve how they prepare financial statements, automate notes and disclosures, manage trial balance data, and produce ACFRs in compliance with GASB standards. You will translate complex government accounting and reporting requirements into scalable, reliable technical solutions that improve financial transparency, audit readiness, and reporting efficiency.
While budgeting and planning workflows are part of the broader platform, this role is primarily focused on financial reporting, ACFR preparation, and disclosure automation, helping governments streamline year-end reporting and meet audit and GASB compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Partner with finance and accounting teams to design solutions for ACFR preparation, financial statements, notes, and statistical sections
Analyze trial balance files, chart of accounts structures, and ERP outputs to support automated financial reporting
Translate GASB reporting requirements into automated disclosures and financial statements
Support implementations involving fund statements, government-wide statements, footnotes, and statistical sections
Assist clients in automating year-end financial reporting and audit preparation
Develop and maintain templates for ACFR statements, notes, disclosures, and supporting schedules
Deliver demos and presentations focused on ACFR automation, financial reporting, and transparency
Travel ~20-30% of the time to provide product demonstrations to prospective clients and company product overview presentations at trade shows
Critical Skills/Experience: Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field; experience with ERP systems, accounting and financial reporting platforms, or financial management systems strongly preferred
Strong understanding of government accounting and financial reporting
Experience preparing or supporting ACFR / PAFR reports
Knowledge of GASB standards and government financial statements
Experience working with trial balances, financial statements, and footnotes
Familiarity with year-end close, audit preparation, and financial disclosures
Ability to work Mountain and/or Pacific United States time zone hours based upon client need

Compensation: In the spirit of transparency, we are excited to share the base salary for this position is $80,000 - $130,000 USD exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. In addition to your base salary, this position has an uncapped variable first year target range of $100,000 - $150,000 USD. If you are hired at ClearGov, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as skills, interview performance, education and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary for the role. Hiring beyond the base range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth. We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package (more information on benefits listed below).
