Energy Storage Engineer

Job Description: Support design phase and engineer major components for large-scale energy storage projects. Recognize inconsistencies in engineering drawings, take corrective action, and work toward better design quality and efficiency. Resolve errors in engineering studies and suggest future solutions. Prepare technical scopes of work for contracts. Support projects from creation to completion by working with project managers. Influence project teams on engineering tasks. Stay updated on project progress and technical issues. Manage project milestones and recognize risks. Collaborate with suppliers to integrate major equipment. Work with diverse teams to improve opportunities, and integrate systems and controls. Understand specifications for major equipment purchasing and propose solutions. Understand permitting requirements, propose solutions to legal challenges, and recommend site design improvements. Travel 25% of the time for project specific responsibilities. Requirements: 3+ Years experience Solar/PV Engineering and Construction. Expertise in one or more of these areas: Power electronics, Battery storage system design, Substation design, Generation tie design. Familiarity with energy storage technologies, including battery chemistries, power conversion units, and DC/DC converters. Familiarity with lithium-ion battery storage safety standards (UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC, applicable IFC/IBC sections). Familiarity with IEC 61215, 61646, 61730.
