Discover your next career opportunity now!Position Overview:This position is responsible for safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all facility equipment and systems, as required to provide an optimum work environment for personnel and visitors in the facility assigned.This position is responsible for installation, fabrication, maintenance and repair of architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration systems and components. In addition, this position is responsible for provision of emergency service response to all site emergencies, maintenance of all assigned spaces and equipment, and oversight of all contractor activity for protection of the work environment for all buildings as assigned.In support of work/life balance, many positions are available for a flexible schedule within the pay period. Ask us about the opportunity for flex scheduling if that's of interest to you.Responsibilities:Operate and maintain facility, physical plant systems and equipment. Responsible for operations of physical plant in the absence of direct supervisionInstall, operate and maintain the building automation system and components Involved in the development, installation and programming of the building automation systems and componentsPerform an assortment of duties related to the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of building electrical systems, HVAC equipment, communication systems, fire systems, and equipmentPerform and record daily and periodic standard operational and maintenance procedures for facility and facility equipmentPerform scheduled tours of the entire facility and inspect all systems and equipment for proper operationResponsible for coordinating emergency responses with supervisor and leadershipResponsible for use of the refrigerant management system and computerized maintenance management system as a documentation and service toolClean and maintain maintenance areasAssist the facilities department as needed with ad-hoc responsibilities: moving heavy objects, snow removalRequired Qualifications:High School Diploma or GEDHVAC/Pipe fitter with EPA Type 3 Refrigeration Recovery CertificationRefrigeration, electrical, and mechanical experience8+ years' experience in HVAC mechanical equipment and system installation; fault analysis and repair, welding, soldering, brazing pipefitting, plumbing, electrical trouble shooting and repair4+ years' experience with DDC/BAS operation and maintenance experience with 4+ years' operational experience in a comparable facilitySubject matter expert in the safe and proper lockout of hazardous energy sources on all facility systems and equipmentKnowledge and compliance of relevant Federal, State and Local regulations are required, such as safety, OSHA, facilities, etc.Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI U.S. Government Security ClearanceAbility to independently assemble materials and resources to complete assigned tasksEffective verbal and written communication skills including e-mailAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, and maintenance procedure manualsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volumeAbility to apply concepts of basic algebra, and geometryAbility to enter alpha/numeric data accuratelyBasic knowledge of computers and Microsoft Word and ExcelAbility to train junior personnel and coordinating with the work activity of others on the operations and maintenance teamProficiency in the use of hand and power tools, testing instruments, gauges, other devices, general construction and material handling equipmentMust be proficient in the performance of aspects of pumps, fan motors, transmission lines, and electrical system installationMust be aware of activities which may adversely impact the facility environment, or health and safety of its occupantsAbility to work occasional weekends if neededThe position may require local travel, and the incumbent must possess a valid driver's license with a record that meets corporate standardsPreferred Qualifications:Third class refrigeration operator's license preferredOSHA certifiedWORKING CONDITIONS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this jobMust be able to hear alarms and equipment sound changes associated with physical plant and facility operationsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and color visionWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to kneel, stand, walk, and climb several flights of stairs, ladders and scaffolding, work from aerial and scissor lifts, and work in enclosed spacesThe employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to highWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, unregulated environments, and outside weather conditionsLocation: Ypsilanti, MIYpsilanti is artistic, genuine, and original.
