Job Description: Lead end-to-end SAP Sybase ASE to Data Bricks Lake base PostgreSQL migration, including assessment, architecture, schema conversion, data migration, testing, cutover, and stabilization.

Responsibilities: Design and implement continuous replication/CDC from Sybase ASE to PostgreSQL, using AWS DMS or equivalent replication technologies, including initial full load followed by ongoing change replication. Strong experience configuring and troubleshooting Sybase transaction-log-based CDC, replication latency, DMS tasks, transaction consistency, data-type mappings, failed transactions, and target apply performance. Design the Aurora PostgreSQL target architecture for high availability, scalability, security, backup/recovery, disaster recovery, networking, and performance. Strong hands-on expertise in Sybase ASE, PostgreSQL/Aurora PostgreSQL, SQL, stored procedures, triggers, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning. Experience with AWS DMS and AWS SCT/DMS Schema Conversion for heterogeneous schema conversion, full-load migration, and continuous CDC replication. Lead remediation of Sybase T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, triggers, datatypes, identity/sequence handling, and application SQL for PostgreSQL compatibility. Define data validation and reconciliation between Sybase and PostgreSQL during full load and CDC, including row counts, data comparison, replication-lag monitoring, and final synchronization. Develop and execute low-downtime cutover and rollback strategies, including change freeze, CDC catch-up, final reconciliation, sequence synchronization, application cutover, and post-migration validation. Design enterprise security and compliance controls using AWS IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, TLS, PostgreSQL roles, auditing, and least-privilege access. Provide technical leadership across DBAs, cloud engineers, application teams, data engineers, security, networking, testing, and business stakeholders. Drive automation, monitoring, and operational readiness using Terraform/Cloud Formation, CI/CD, CloudWatch, DMS monitoring, scripting, alerts, and production support runbooks. Strong experience delivering large-scale, mission-critical database modernization and replication programs, including architecture governance, RPO/RTO, capacity planning, risk management, and executive communication.
