General Manager
Swim Club Management Group is looking for a General Manager to lead our Commercial Aquatics operation for our North Carolina Market. Swim Club Management Group the leading service provider for swim club management services in the Carolinas and Virginia - offering staffing, maintenance, and renovation services with a focus and deduction to safety. As the Regional Director, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all property and location management operations across multiple regions. This role partners closely with executive leadership to drive operational excellence, financial performance, client satisfaction, and organizational growth. The Regional Director is responsible for leading Regional Managers and ensuring that all locations operate safely, efficiently, and in alignment with Swim Club’s standards. This role focuses on high-level operational strategy, talent development, client relationships, and expansion opportunities while ensuring the successful execution of day-to-day operations through regional leadership teams.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development: Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to Regional Managers and operational teams across assigned regions. Develop leadership capabilities within the organization and ensure strong succession planning for key operational roles.Operational Strategy & Oversight: Oversee operational performance across multiple regions, ensuring that pools, facilities, and service operations consistently meet Swim Club’s standards for safety, quality, and efficiency. Monitor regional performance and guide improvements where necessary.Multi-Region Operations Management: Ensure Regional Managers effectively oversee pool services, maintenance operations, and staffing at all managed locations. Establish operational expectations and ensure consistency across regions.Strategic Planning & Business Growth: Work with executive leadership to identify growth opportunities, including new contracts, facility expansions, and service offerings. Support the development of strategic plans that align with company growth objectives.Client Relationship Leadership: Maintain executive-level relationships with key clients, property management companies, boards, and stakeholders. Support Regional Managers in resolving complex issues and ensuring long-term client satisfaction and retention.Financial Performance & P&L Management: Oversee Profit & Loss performance for all assigned regions, ensuring financial goals are met or exceeded. Monitor budgets, labor costs, operational expenses, and revenue performance while identifying opportunities for improved profitability.Operational Excellence & Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, service delivery, and cost management. Lead the development and implementation of improved processes, procedures, and standards across all regions.Safety & Compliance Leadership: Promote and enforce a safety-first culture across all locations. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards related to pool operations, chemical handling, equipment, and facility management.Talent Management & Workforce Planning: Oversee recruitment strategy, staffing models, and workforce planning across regions. Support Regional Managers in hiring, training, and developing supervisors, site managers, and seasonal staff.Performance Management: Monitor performance of Regional Managers and operational teams. Establish performance expectations, track KPIs, and ensure accountability through regular reporting and performance reviews.Project & Construction Oversight: Provide oversight for major construction, renovation, and capital improvement projects, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with company standards.Seasonal Operations Planning: Lead high-level planning for preseason preparation, seasonal operations, and post-season processes. Ensure adequate staffing, equipment readiness, training programs, and operational planning across regions.Reporting & Executive Communication: Provide regular operational and financial reports to executive leadership. Communicate insights, risks, opportunities, and performance updates that impact company strategy and regional success.Skills & Qualifications Experience in the aquatics industry (pool management, lifeguard services, pool construction, maintenance, repair) or related industryStrong business acumen including the ability to oversee multiple locations.Experience in hiring, coaching and training teams to ensure successEducation: High school diploma or equivalent requiredKnowledge of Pool Systems: Understanding of pool filtration, circulation, and heating systems, as well as chemical balancing.Technical Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and maintain pool equipment and systems.Management Experience: strong leadership abilities and experience supervising and leading teams preferred. Customer Service Skills: Good communication skills and a professional, customer-focused attitude.Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy equipment, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.Attention to Detail: Ability to inspect pools thoroughly, identify issues, and maintain accurate records.Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose problems with pool systems and equipment and determine appropriate solutions.Valid Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required. This role will be responsible for traveling between various job sites and will be using a company vehicle.Schedule RequirementsTo support the business this role will have a varying schedule to accommodate the seasonal fluctuations. This role will work a schedule of 50 hrs per week with an increase in hours during the peak seasons to accomplish the needs of the business. From September to March the schedule will be Monday through Friday. April to September (ending after Labor Day) includes the peak pre-season and summer season which is when the business is the busiest. The schedule during these months will be six days a week with the expectation to work weekends. This role requires flexible schedules and may work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and work extended hours depending on customer and business needs.Be available "after hours" for emergency situations to address business and client needs. Ability to work during summer holidays as pool service and maintenance is critical during these times. Must be available on Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Fourth of July, and Labor Day and corresponding weekends. Physical RequirementsSitting, Standing, and Walking for long durations. Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying heavy equipment (e.g., pool vacuums, filters) up to 85+ lbs. Ability to work in water and perform physical labor.Typically works outdoors for prolonged periods of time, often at commercial properties (hotels, gyms, resorts).The role requires working in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, or cold temperatures.Occasional travel may be needed for client meetings or other business related meetings.
