General Machine OperatorReports To: Plant ManagerPosition Type: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m FLSA Status: Non-ExemptPosition OverviewThe General Machine Operator plays an essential role in producing high-quality finished architectural panels and related products. This position is responsible for operating various machinery to process wood and foam materials according to product specifications. Operators must work efficiently to maximize material yield, identify and address material defects, and ensure all production follows safety and quality standards.Responsibilities and DutiesOperate production machinery safely and efficiently to produce high-quality finished goodsSet up, adjust, and maintain equipment according to specifications and production needsInspect raw materials for defects or inconsistencies before processingRead and interpret drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate productionPerform basic equipment inspections and preventative maintenance as neededRecommend process improvements to increase efficiency and qualityFollow all Company Safety Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)Operate a variety of production equipment, including forklifts, glue presses, table saws, sanders, and other related machineryAssist in other production areas as required to meet production goalsQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredPrevious experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment is preferredMechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic machine issuesAbility to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyComfortable working independently with minimal supervisionStrong sense of humor and team spiritAbility to lift up to 70 pounds and stand for extended periodsA willingness to learn computer-based systems and equipment controlsWork EnvironmentRegular exposure to fumes and airborne particlesFrequent work near moving mechanical partsOccasional exposure to electrical shock and vibrationNoise level: Moderate to loudSalary and BenefitsCompetitive hourly wageMedical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Disability Insurance401(k) Retirement PlanPaid Vacation/PTO14 Paid HolidaysAnnual Bonus Plan Eligibility
