About TRC: TRC is partnering with a leader in energy infrastructure to identify a Project Accountant supporting both capital and reimbursable projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their accounting career to gain hands-on experience with project billing, cost tracking, and contract-based accounting in a stable, growth-oriented environment.SummaryThis role supports both capital and reimbursable (cost-plus / contract-based) projects, partnering closely with Project Managers, internal stakeholders, and external clients across commercial and government projects. The Project Accountant plays a key role in ensuring accurate cost tracking, billing, and financial reporting across active projects.ResponsibilitiesManage accounting activities for capital and reimbursable projectsPrepare, review, and submit client invoices tied to contract terms (cost-plus, T&M, etc.)Track project costs and ensure proper allocation and billabilitySupport month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close (4-day close cycle)Perform general ledger activities including journal entries and account reconciliationsHandle fixed asset accounting including unitizations, retirements, reclasses, and capital vs. expense decisionsPartner with Project Managers and stakeholders to ensure accurate billing and timely collectionsAssist with ad hoc reporting, analysis, and system/process improvementsRequirements2–3+ years of experience in project accounting, general ledger, or similar accounting roleExperience working within an ERP system (Oracle, SAP, or similar)Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUPsExperience with reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end closeStrong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processesEffective communication skills with ability to work cross-functionallyPreferredExperience with reimbursable, cost-plus, or contract-based billingAbility to read and interpret contracts for billing and cost recoveryExposure to government-funded or infrastructure-related projectsExperience in project-based environments such as construction, utilities, engineering, or infrastructureTRC Talent Solutions is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
