Media Center Technician - Pre-Professional Program

Mills James is seeking a Media Center Technician (Pre-Professional) to join our Post Operations team through a structured six-month development program. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for individuals looking to begin a career in video production, media management, or post-production.In this role, you will gain hands-on experience working with professional-grade equipment and industry-standard workflows. You will support the ingestion, organization, processing, and delivery of media assets while learning directly from experienced production professionals in a collaborative environment.This position is fully on-site in Columbus, Ohio and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.Essential FunctionsIngest, organize, and back up raw video and audio files for editorial and archival useTranscode media into multiple formats for broadcast, streaming, and digital deliveryCreate and manage closed captioning for short- and long-form video contentApply and maintain file naming conventions, metadata, and asset management standardsPerform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of media deliverablesCoordinate and distribute media files to internal teams and external partnersPrepare and deliver final media for broadcast and digital platformsTroubleshoot issues related to file formats, storage systems, and media transfersSupport daily operations, including scheduling and general media center tasksPerform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goalsRequired QualificationsBasic knowledge of video production workflows, codecs, and file formatsFamiliarity with Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, After Effects preferred)Strong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentEffective communication and collaboration skillsWillingness to learn and contribute in a team-oriented settingPreferred Qualifications- Associates or Bachelors degree (or currently pursuing) in Video Production, Media Arts, Communications, or related field- Internship, coursework, or hands-on experience in post-production or media handlingBenefits include 401(k) and sick time.PIc17b2dd929ec-26289-40137064
