This role is the primary execution owner for cash receipts, accounts payable processing, balance sheet reconciliations, and regulatory compliance filings, and contributes to contract record maintenance, audit support, and department-wide financial operations.Primary ResponsibilitiesCash Management & ReconciliationRecords cash receipts in the accounting systemRecords intra-company cash activity for Concur and payroll sweepsReconciles check receipts to the check logReconciles undeposited funds monthlyPrepaids & Other AssetsPrepares prepaid rent allocation and reconciliationPrepares prepaid expense journal entries and maintains supporting reconciliation schedulesReconciles security deposits and other asset accountsAccounts Payable & Expense ManagementSupports the AP Specialist in monitoring the accounting email inbox, responding to vendor, staff, and student inquiriesProcesses credit card reports in ConcurProcesses employee expense reimbursements in ConcurMaintains contract records, documentation, and key date tracking in coordination with the AP SpecialistPayroll SupportSets up new employees in Sage Intacct upon hireRegulatory & Compliance FilingsMaintains records of business licenses and property tax statements for all jurisdictionsPrepares and files business license renewals across all applicable states, counties, parishes, and citiesPrepares and files property tax welfare exemption filingsAudit & Policy SupportPrepares documentation and schedules in support of the annual financial statement auditContributes to accounting policy training and assists with special projects as assignedOther Duties As AssignedQualifications: First and foremost, the Staff Accountant will be a fierce advocate for College Track’s mission to equip scholars confronting obstacles to earn a bachelor’s degree in pursuit of a life of opportunity, choice, purpose, and power. Additionally, candidates bring with them the following skills, experience, and knowledge:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferredMinimum 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience, with demonstrated strength in transactional accounting and reconciliationPrior experience in a nonprofit organization with a budget exceeding $10M preferredAbility to work 9am-5pm Monday-FridayProficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills requiredProficiency in Google Workspace, with strong Google Sheets skills preferred.Experience with Sage Intacct or comparable cloud-based ERP required; experience with Concur Expense strongly preferredComfort with chart of accounts structures and account-level reconciliationFamiliarity with AI-assisted tools (such as Claude or Gemini) in support of accounting and finance workflows preferredAdmin Jobs: sedentary work that primarily involves sitting, standing, typing on a keyboard, manipulating a mouse to use a computer's operating system/internet. However, as someone new to the role, you can expect an offer around $72,500.00 - $75,999.00 to ensure internal equity while leaving room for salary growth during your time in the position.College Track provides access to extensive benefits centered around three core areas of wellness: health care, work-life balance, and financial security.
