Qualifications
Maintain a good driving record
Hold a class “B” or "C" with passengers endorsement drivers current license from the California State Department of Motor Vehicles
A high school graduate
Over 18 years of age
Physically capable both of performing the required duties and of assisting frail elderly and disabled adults, as necessary
Able to speak, read and write English fluently
Spanish Speaking Preferred
Current valid CPR and First Aid Certificates
Health exam within last year indicating no adverse health conditions that would place participants in jeopardy, or hinder ability to successfully perform job duties
TB clearance
Driving: 1 year (Required)
Driver's License (Required)
Responsibilities
Responsible for maintaining a schedule of transportation to and from the center, including meticulous record keeping of pick-up and drop off of participants
Assist the participant out of the home and into and out of the vehicle as necessary
Report to Program Director immediately if a participant does not appear for previously scheduled transportation
Make efforts to determine if the participant is helpless and unable to answer the door or phone, or has gone away for the day
Maintain a schedule of maintenance of the vehicle, including documented safety checks of the safety devices
Will be knowledgeable of ADHC/CBAS laws, regulations, CBAS certification standards, standards of participation and policies and procedures
This will be ensured through ongoing staff training and education
