Event Manager | Full-Time | Nampa Civic Center

occasionally hire, train, schedule and supervise all event related staff, as well as oversee building security and parking issues and interact with local public safety officials to ensure events run smoothly; coordinate communication between event related staff and delegate assignments; be responsible for and ensure overall customer and lessee satisfaction and experience.This role will pay an annual salary of $45,000 to $57,000.Benefits for Full-Time roles: Health, Dental and Vision Insurance, 401(k) Savings Plan, 401(k) matching, and Paid Time Off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays)This position will remain open until April 17, 2026.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating the logistics of events throughout the Nampa Civic CenterPlan, direct and evaluate the work of subordinatesProvide leadership and guidance for event personnelDevelop and control event budgets including preparing pre-show event financial estimates and completing post-show financial settlements based on contractual requirements.Develop processes and training for events departmentReview emergency planning procedures with all event staff for each eventRecruit, train, and supervise event & security staffResponsible for the Events department role in the execution of event contracts and rental agreementsEnsure timely and accurate event information is delivered to the finance department for deposits/settlement/invoicing purposesCommunicate with finance that all credit card charges and all other billing for events is completedEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with lessees/clients, co-workers, part-time staff, contractors, patrons/public and municipal officialsCreate and distribute detailed data sheets prior to every event, with client approval and internal communicationAssist internal and external clients with event logistics and suggest the most effective ways to use the facility for specific types of functions.Exercises discretion and utilizes independent decision-making during events that will best represent the Nampa Civic Center and serve the client.Ensure that all event insurance certificates, licenses and permits required for production are obtained in a timely manner, including pyrotechnics and traffic controlAdvance and communicate all event information to appropriate departments and staffTroubleshoot during event preparation and during event to ensure that all event setups are correct including making decisions about policy, procedures, billing and staffingOversee all production, set up, event staff, event-related contract servicesOversee the Brandt Theater and events in the Nampa Civic Center as assigned.Create risk assessments and pro-forma for upcoming/new events.Create work schedules for event & security staff, delegate assignments, and review performance/resultsServe as Manager on Duty as scheduled/requiredCommunicates in a timely fashion any/all problems and proposed solutions to the GM and/or Facility DirectorReceives and responds to complaints from tenants and the public or refers them to the Facility DirectorPrepares events reports noting attendance, times, significant problems, etc.Finalizes lessee requirements including table arrangements and number and nature of support personnel (ushers, security guards, caterers & decorators)Interacts with other facility staff in a courteous, cooperative, and professional mannerProvide excellent customer service to internal and external clientsPrepare and approve bi-weekly payroll for all event staff and security staffCoordinate service needs with Food and Beverage provider & make hospitality arrangements as neededNON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Perform other duties as assignedQualifications3-5 years of increasingly responsible event management experience in a stadium, arena, convention center or public assembly facility setting highly preferredBachelor's degree or better from an accredited college or university with major course work in facility management, marketing, business administration or related fieldProficient in use of Microsoft Office programs; experience with AutoCAD and Event Booking preferred; timekeeping and security softwareKnowledge of operational characteristics of events, including crowd management and control techniques; fire and public safety regulations, food service practices, A/V equipment and relevant federal, state, and local regulationsAbility to communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writingProduction experience involving concert set up, audio, video, lighting, and rigging preferredSelf motivated with excellent interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to function and make management decisions in a fast-paced high pressure environmentAbility to work independently and as part of a teamMust be available to work a flexible schedule, including long nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays as neededIntellectual/Social, Physical Demands and Work Environment:The intellectual/social, physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employees in this role will constantly be in leadership role; this requires directing others either verbally or in writing to complete tasks in prescribed time frame. This position also requires constant use of interpersonal skills including, but not limited to: ability to direct/motivate/inform staff and foster collaboration, ability to recognize and resolve conflicts, and ability to openly communicate verbally and in writing with clients and co-workers.Physical Demands:While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee constantly operates a computer and other office devices such telephones, copy machines, etc; occasionally moves about inside the office to access storage areas, cabinets and office machinery; constantly communicates via telephone, email and in-person with others to exchange accurate information; and constantly moves about the arena and event sites before, during and after events to service clients and supervise staff.
