This role assists in ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and according to design specifications.The Assistant Foreman may lead crews when the Foreman is unavailable and plays an important role in maintaining safety standards, productivity, and quality installation practices.Key ResponsibilitiesLandscape InstallationInstall landscape projects according to construction plans and project budgets under the guidance of the ForemanAssist with daily crew coordination and lead crews when the Foreman is unavailableFollow blueprints, grading plans, construction drawings, and project specificationsAssist with establishing grades and elevations using laser or zip levelsFollow company installation methods and construction standardsLoad trucks and trailers with materials and equipment as neededRetrieve materials and supplies for job sites when requiredParticipate in monthly meetings with supervisors or managersEquipment Operation and MaintenanceOperate landscape equipment safely and according to company proceduresPerform equipment inspections including fluid checks before operationAssist in communicating proper equipment usage and weight limitations to crew membersFollow maintenance procedures for trucks, trailers, and equipmentCommunicationMaintain clear communication between crew members and production managementRespond to project related communication in a timely mannerReport unsafe or reckless activities to managementSafetyAttend weekly safety meetings and assist in leading training when the Foreman is unavailableEnsure crews are working safely and job sites remain hazard freeReport accidents or incidents according to company policyTime ManagementAssist with keeping projects within budgeted labor hoursSupport Foreman in managing project schedules and timelinesHandle timekeeping responsibilities for crew members when the Foreman is absentSnow OperationsMaintain 24 hour on call availability during snow seasonOperate snow removal equipment safelyPerform snow plowing, shoveling, blowing, and ice melt application as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredPreferred CertificationsOSHA 10 certification or higherBilingual English and SpanishExperience RequirementsMinimum one year of landscape or construction field experienceAdditional RequirementsValid driver’s license approved by company fleet insuranceExperience with paver installation, irrigation systems, planting, and landscape construction techniques preferredPhysical Requirements And Working ConditionsThis role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and operating landscape equipment.
