Summary
POSITION SUMMARY
A Press Brake Operator II, or CNC Press Brake Operator II, bends sheet metal that can be used to manufacture various frame assemblies. Duties
commonly listed in a Press Brake Operator job description include using blueprints to properly set equipment, operating a brake press and
conducting inspections to ensure that finished materials meet design specifications.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Studying blueprints and specification sheets to understand technical requirements
· Setting a computer-controlled press brake to project specifications
· Ensuring proper positioning and alignment of metal inside the press brake
· Monitoring the pressing process
· Measuring and inspecting the finished sheet metal to ensure it matches specifications
· Troubleshooting and addressing problems that arise during the pressing process
· Performing routine maintenance on the press brake
· Complying with all health and safety standards in the manufacturing facility
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS &ABILITIES
Education / Experience
· Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
· Minimum 1-4 years’ experience in direct operation of CNC press break equipment.
· In-depth understanding of the parts of a press brake and how the machine works
· Computer skills to operate CNC software
· Ability to remain upright and perform repetitive movements throughout most of a work shift
· Arithmetic skills to perform measurements and calculate settings
· Ability to move heavy or large pieces of sheet metal from one place to another
· Observation skills to monitor the pressing process and inspect metal after pressing
· Knowledge of health and safety regulations for the manufacturing industry
· Familiarity with blueprints and the terminology used in technical specification sheets
Skills
· Excellent knowledge of blueprint reading
Strong analytical, observational, and time management skills
· Sheet Metal Fabrication skills a plus
Abilities
· Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 lbs.
· Must be able stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 5% or less of the workday
· Must be able to talk, see, hear, concentrate, think, and reason.
· Ability to wear PPE as required.
· Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.
· Must be able to use a keyboard and do manual tasks for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
