Senior Corporate Security Specialist
The Senior Security Specialist acts as a first responder for emergencies, evacuations, and active shooter incidents supporting the Guardian home office location in New York City. It is an armed, on-site position that has daily responsibilities for processing visitors, assisting colleagues, monitoring access control alarms, and cameras, collaborating closely with building security, and conducting building tours.You willRespond to emergencies in an orderly manner using proper training and following all SOPs.Function as first responder in security emergencies, making “on the spot” determinations, of how to respond and determining when an escalated response / potential use of force is required to protect employees.Ability to interact with law enforcement and other emergency responders in a highly effective manner.Provide a courteous, professional, respectful, and pleasant interaction with each associate and visitor; presents a good image of Guardian and of the Corporate Security Office.Communicate in a manner that is open, honest, and responsive in all situations, to the extent authorized.Check for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked ingress and egress, access control or video surveillance problems, and unauthorized people.Prepare logs or reports in accordance with departmental requirements and procedures.Document all incidents in a manner that ensures all facts are accurately reported and can be effectively used in connection with any necessary legal action that may be required.Have control access to Guardian facilities; assist visitors and verify right to access; screens visitors and Guardian associates in an efficient manner in order to expedite their admittance to the facility.Monitor entrances and exits, prevents unapproved or unlawful entry, controls entrances, monitors remote entrances and other areas of the facilities.Perform investigations of alleged misconduct, involving analysis of facts to help determine the direction of the investigation, making determinations of credibility based on the facts and witness interviews, and recommending findings and conclusions.Conduct site visits to new and existing locations to conduct security assessments and determine control requirements and improvements if necessary.Perform threat / risk assessments involving executive travel and accompanying executives to ensure appropriate security measures are in place.You have5 Years of proven experience in Law Enforcement or Corporate Security roles (Preferred)Experience in Emergency Response and First Responder services (e.g., Fire, First Aid, CPR, etc.)Strong Customer Service SkillsExcellent communication and writing skills.Ability to remain calm and take control during emergency situations.Experienced in writing reportsValid Driver’s License (Required)Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check and must be drug free (Required)NY Armed Guard certified (or able to obtain)Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and ExcelHigh degree of professionalism and accountabilityRed Cross First Aid, CPR and AED certified (Preferred)Understand applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.Self-starter with the ability to solve problems with little supervision.Ability to manage multiple projects with multiple deliverables simultaneously.Experience adapting to changing business priorities and environments.Leader BehaviorsAchieve Results Take ownership & accountability for actions and results.Convey a sense of urgency; meet deadlines without compromising quality & accuracy.Able to operate in a complex environment with rapid change and manage multiple efforts simultaneously.Values PeopleShows respect for & cooperate with individuals of a variety of backgrounds.Builds effective working relationships, work to include others.Acts as a team player by collaborating and working toward common goals.Manages conflict & friction effectively.Does the Right ThingLives up to commitments.Demonstrates high standards of professionalism, integrity & customer service.Holds self and others accountable for actions/decisions.Acts honestly & fairly in business practices and dealings with others.Put Customers First Actively listens to what customers (end users/sponsors/stakeholders) have to say.Take action to resolve customer problems promptly & to ensure customer satisfaction.Uses feedback as an opportunity to continuously improve customer service levels.Reporting Relationship This position reports to the Head of Corporate Security OperationsLocation /TravelOn site – 5 days required, Monday through Friday – Hudson Yards, NYCSalary Range:$82,770.00 - $135,975.00The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate.
