Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the world.In the role of Senior Geotechnical Engineer, we'll count on you to:Perform, review, and provide quality control for geotechnical analyses, including parameter development, seepage, slope stability, settlement, foundation pile analysis, retaining wall design, bearing capacities evaluations and othersDevelop geotechnical design solutions to address stability, liquefaction, seepage and other subsurface and dam risksWork with multidisciplinary teams to develop design solutionsParticipate in FERC Comprehensive Assessments (CAs), Periodic Inspections (PIs), and other dam safety evaluations including L2RA and SQRAPrepare contract documents, including drawings, design reports, specifications and cost estimatesParticipate in risk assessments and support risk-informed decision makingPlan and prepare geotechnical investigations or design activities that have significant impact on major company programsParticipate in marketing efforts of both internal and external clientsOrganize, conduct, and coordinate or manage geotechnical investigations for transportation and other projectsPerform geotechnical technical analyses, prepare geotechnical reports and coordinate with designers to implement recommendationsFunction as a Technical Specialist or Project Manager on large-size projects as needed, but project management is not the sole focus of this positionSupervise professionals, technicians and design teams, as neededSome travel may be required to support project workPerform other duties as neededPreferred QualificationsFERC SQRA facilitation training and experienceExperience with FERC dam safety regulatory process including DSSMPs, DSSMRs, STIDs, participation in Part 12D dam safety inspectionsExperience in geohazards, including seismic hazards, seismic deformation, liquefaction, landslide and relate risksRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree 10 years of experience Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license. Experience with Microsoft Office applications, GIS, and CADD, as appropriateExperience with GeoStudio/Ensoft slope stability, settlement, seepage, and deep foundation response software, as appropriateExperience with Bentley suite of geotechnical data management and visualization software (gINT/OpenGround/LeapFrog)Knowledge of advanced numerical modeling techniques such as Finite Difference, Finite Element, Discrete Element, etc. and commercial software for advanced numerical modeling (Bentley, PLAXIS, Itasca FLAC)An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We BelieveHDR is our company.
