Job DescriptionJob Title: Forklift Driver/Material HandlerDepartment: Warehouse / ShippingReports To: Team Lead and/or SupervisorSupervises: N/AFLSA Status: Non-ExemptDate Reviewed: April 2025Summary/Objectives: The function of the Forklift Driver, under limited supervision, is to process parts through the production process. Workers in this area will become familiar with the materials, tools, fixtures, equipment, machines, computer systems, etc., used in the area; as well as, be able to operate equipment and perform functions in the area. Importantly workers, should understand the function and relationship of their activity/department to other parts of the Company, and strive to obtain cooperation and understanding with all other groups/departments.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):Transport parts throughout the facility according to policy and procedures using forklift or electric pallet jack.Consistent, reliable attendance and punctuality at assigned work locationComplete appropriate NetSuite (ERP system) reporting function to ensure accurate system reporting.Perform warehouse and shipping order pulling and stocking functions.Perform receiving functions.Recommend work changes and improvements related to layout of area, manpower, equipment, or materials usage for continuous improvement.Ensure accuracy and quality of parts moved in a fast paced production environment.Support all company policies, procedures, safety rules and principals of Lean Manufacturing/5S.Be available as required by customer demand to work additional time (overtime) throughout the year.Perform other related duties as assigned by the Team Lead, Supervisor or Supply Chain Manager.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities or limitations related to, affected by, or arising out of pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions to perform the essential functions, unless the accommodation will cause and undue hardship.Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:(List of knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform this job)Ability to work individually or as part of a teamTime Management SkillsResults Driven.Ability to organize and multi-task.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors and co-workers.Ability to count and measure.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Ability to operate machinery such as forklifts and electric pallet jacks.Education and/or Experience:Required:Previous forklift experience. Basic math and computer skills are necessary. Must be self-motivated, able to work independently and willing to make decisions. Able to troubleshoot and resolve problems. Must be a good communicator (written and verbal) and able to speak, read, write and understand the English language. Certification of forklift operation and other material moving equipment will be required.Preferred:2-3 years work experience preferably in warehouse/production environment; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.High school diploma or GED.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Work Environment: Manufacturing plant, non-controlled climate, Mechanical equipment, Safety glasses, Hearing protection and other PPE, as required, Moving objects, Fumes, Odors, dirt, and dust.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full-Time. Work Schedule: Warehouse/Shipping Monday-Thursday 5am- 3:30pm or Tuesday-Friday, 7:00AM - 5:30PM. May require overtime based on business needs.Travel: No travel is expected for this position.
