Chef
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Chef to join our team at The Lobster Bar located inside of The Bite Eatery. As a vital member of our hospitality team, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the kitchen, overseeing food preparation and service, and ensuring high-quality dining experiences for our guests. The menu is limited and small, it consists of lobster rolls, seafood rolls and salads.
Responsibilities:
- Manage kitchen operations, including inventory management and food production to ensure timely and efficient service.
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, menu, and food safety guidelines.
- Develop and implement new menu items, recipes, and presentation styles to drive customer satisfaction and increase revenue.
- Manage food service, including coordinating with the restaurant team to ensure seamless service.
- Implement food management systems to control costs, minimize waste, and maintain high-quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure the kitchen is well-stocked and minimize waste.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment, with a focus on kitchen management.
- Strong understanding of food preparation and service principles.
- Excellent culinary skills, including the ability to cook a variety of dishes and maintain high-quality standards.
- Ability to manage and coordinate the work of kitchen staff.
- Experience with inventory management, food production, and food service management.
- Knowledge of dietary department guidelines and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with the restaurant team and other departments.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Strong hospitality skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve high-quality results.
- Certification in food safety and sanitation is preferred.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
