Manufacturing IT/Data Specialist
Position SummaryDelta Performance Products is seeking a motivated and technically versatile Manufacturing IT / Data Specialist to join our team in Covington, Georgia. This hands-on role supports the day-to-day technology needs of our manufacturing and office environments, serving as the primary resource for IT troubleshooting, ERP data administration, and warehouse technology support. The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between office and manufacturing floor settings, communicates clearly with non-technical colleagues, and takes pride in keeping systems running smoothly so our team can focus on making great products and serving our customers.Key ResponsibilitiesIT Support & TroubleshootingServe as first-line support for office computers, printers, network peripherals, and other end-user equipment.Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues in a timely manner, escalating to vendors or third-party support when appropriate.Maintain and document IT asset inventory, including computers, peripherals, and software licenses.Coordinate with vendors and service providers for equipment repair, replacement, and warranty claims.ERP System Administration & Data ManagementServe as a primary data administrator for the company’s ERP system (Datacor, formally known as Chempax), ensuring data integrity and system reliability.Assist with data entry, data cleanup, and data migration projects across ERP modules including inventory, purchasing, production, and customer records.Generate reports and queries to support operational decision-making; identify and resolve data discrepancies.Coordinate with department leads to ensure ERP records are accurate, current, and consistently maintained.Assist end users with ERP navigation, functionality questions, and basic training.Warehouse Technology & Specialized EquipmentTroubleshoot and support warehouse management system (WMS) hardware and software, including handheld scanners, mobile computers, and label printers.Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot label printing systems (e.g., Zebra or similar platforms), including label templates and print queue management.Work with plant and warehouse staff to quickly resolve equipment issues that could impact production or shipping operations.Liaise with equipment vendors and software support teams to resolve complex or recurring technical issues.Systems Implementation & ProjectsAssist with the evaluation, deployment, and rollout of new software applications, hardware platforms, and integrated systems.Support change management efforts by helping develop user documentation, training materials, and process guides for new systems.Participate in IT and operations project teams, providing technical input and hands-on implementation support.Test new configurations and updates in a staging environment prior to production deployment where applicable.Other DutiesProvide coverage and support during peak periods, inventory, or critical system events.Perform additional IT and operational tasks as assigned.QualificationsEducation & Experience2+ years of experience in an IT support, data administration, or systems technician role required.Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent work experience required.Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing or distribution environment required.Experience with the Datacor ERP system is highly preferred.Technical SkillsSolid understanding of PC hardware, Windows operating systems, and Microsoft Office applications.Familiarity with label printing systems and/or warehouse management technologies (e.g., Zebra printers, ZPL, handheld scanners).Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi infrastructure, VLANs).Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.CompetenciesAbility to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Self-starter with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.Problem-solving mindset with sound judgment and attention to detail.Work EnvironmentPrimarily based at our Covington, Georgia manufacturing facility; on-site presence required.Work takes place in both office and manufacturing/warehouse settings; exposure to a manufacturing environment is expected.Occasional lifting of IT equipment (up to 40 lbs.) may be required.Standard business hours with occasional flexibility needed during system implementations or critical issue resolution.This job description does not necessarily represent an exhaustive list of responsibilities, skills, duties, requirements, efforts, or working conditions associated with the job.
