Cable Engineer – Fiber Optic Infrastructure ProjectWe are seeking an experienced Cable Engineer to support the early development of a fiber optic cable infrastructure project in TexasPreference for US-based candidatesStart DateASAPContract Duration:Initial 3-month contractRolling month-to-month extension based on project requirementsCommitment:Minimum 2–3 days per week initiallyExpected to ramp up as the project progressesProject Scope:Approximately 6 miles of fiber optic cableSubsea, nearshore, and inland cable routeHDD landfall/interface engineeringConcept development through to construction planningResponsibilitiesLead cable engineering activities during the concept and FEED stages.Define and advise on fiber optic cable system requirements and technical specificationsDevelop cable route concepts and installation methodologiesPrepare engineering reports, studies, and technical documentationPresent engineering recommendations to client management teamsSupport permitting activities and engagement with relevant authoritiesInterface with HDD contractors, civil engineers, marine stakeholders, and other project disciplinesSupport detailed engineering and construction planning activities as the project developsProvide technical guidance on cable installation risks, constructability, and project execution strategyRequiments:Proven experience as a Cable Engineer on subsea, nearshore, or telecommunications infrastructure projects.Strong understanding of cable routing, installation methodologies, and cable protection solutions
