Senior Electrical Engineer

Required Skills & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related)Professional Engineering license highly desired5+ years' experience in utility, consulting, or substation engineeringHands-on experience with relay settings (SEL, GE, or equivalent) and power system modeling software (ETAP, SKM, CYME, ASPEN)Strong understanding of distribution and substation infrastructureNice to Have Skills & ExperienceExperience with SCADA integration and communications protocolsFamiliarity with civil/structural aspects of substationsExposure to - Grid modernization, renewables, microgrids, EV infrastructureJob DescriptionSeeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support distribution and substation design projects across utilities, municipalities, and private clients. This role focuses on medium- and high-voltage systems, power system modeling, relay protection, and grid modernization efforts, with opportunities to mentor junior engineers and lead technical workstreams.Key responsibilities includeDesign and support distribution and substation projects (MV/LV transformers, switchgear, protection & control, service connections)Perform power system studies using: ETAP, SKM, CYME, ASPEN (load flow, short circuit, coordination)Design overhead and underground distribution systems: poles, conductors, transformers, switchgear, protective devicesDevelop and implement relay settings: SEL AcSELerator, GE Enervista, ASPEN, or equivalentTroubleshoot relay, SCADA, and recloser protection issues with field teamsSupport BESS design and grid integrationCoordinate with vendors and construction teams for procurement and installationWork with drafting teams on: one-lines, plan & profiles, construction packages, specificationsCollaborate with civil and multidisciplinary teamsMentor junior engineers and support internal knowledge sharing
