Robotics Engineer (Remote, Full-Time)Rex.zone is hiring a mid-senior Robotics Engineer to build, implement, and evaluate real-world autonomy workflows across perception, planning, and control. This role blends robotics software engineering with rigorous dataset creation, QA evaluation, prompt evaluation, and safety-focused validation to improve ML-driven robotics reliability.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn robotics perception, planning, and control modules with measurable reliability targetsBuild simulation-to-real evaluation workflows using logs/bags and scenario replaysDefine and enforce annotation guidelines and labeling taxonomies for vision/sensor/task dataPerform QA evaluation of labeled datasets and model outputs; drive training data quality improvementsRun prompt evaluation for instruction-following and operator tooling used in robotics workflowsSupport RLHF-style preference data collection for behavior selection and safety constraints when applicableConduct error analysis, regression testing, and benchmark reportingCollaborate cross-functionally to align priorities, acceptance criteria, and deployment readinessRequired QualificationsMid-senior experience building robotics systems in production or advanced R&DStrong Python and C++ skills; comfortable with ROS2-based developmentHands-on knowledge of robot perception, computer vision, SLAM, and sensor fusionExperience with motion planning and control systems, including real-world debuggingFamiliarity with dataset creation, data labeling workflows, and training data quality principlesAbility to write clear documentation, labeling specs, and test plansPreferred QualificationsExperience with Gazebo/Ignition (or similar) simulation and autonomy evaluationExposure to LLM-assisted robotics tooling, prompt evaluation, and safety reviewFamiliarity with RLHF concepts and human-in-the-loop evaluationCompensationCompetitive hourly rate: $30–$50/hr (USD).
