FITTER POSITION - DIRECT HIRE OPPORTUNITY!!Locations: Haltom City & Rhome Pay: $23.00 - $26.25 BOE Shift 1st & 2nd STEEL MANUFACTURING!!JOB SUMMARYUnder the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Fitter position is responsible for fitting and joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable material. For large or specialized projects, fitters are mainly involved with laying out and assembling subunits or units of materials which are then welded into position by welders. The position is responsible for ensuring the product is fitted to the specifications of each job and the outlined requirements consistent with production of quality UT passable welds. The fitters specialize in fitting transmission power poles, substation A-Frames, High mast poles, Highway sign poles and other tubular structures and have specific experience related to reading blueprints.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or GED, plus 5 years minimum fitter experience or related field. Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable. Must possess Overhead and Jib Crane experienceQUALIFICATIONSThe incumbent must possess:Knowledge and understanding of welding symbols and diagramsKnowledge of how to use an Overhead and Jib CraneThorough knowledge of welding equipment, including but not limited to, torches, torch tipsSkill in reading blueprints, and/or other printed instructional material in the welding of products or parts of welding symbolsAbility to work in extreme temperatures (sometimes due to season)Ability to report to work as scheduled and maintain good attendanceAbility to work 1st or 2nd Shift, as neededAbility to work overtime, as neededPositive, willingness to learn and participate in a changing environment to reach a common goal.Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goalsAbility and experience in pole work are preferredSuccessfully pass a Fitter test, background check, including criminal history, drug screen, physical, audiogram, and vision test.RESPONSIBILITIES1.Ability to perform fitting and joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable material.2.Ability to perform sets-up, including laying out work using jigs/fixtures or hand layouts to fabricate parts and/or rework finished products3.Ability to perform fabrication of multi-component parts4.Ability to cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks, in addition to the primary assigned position.5.Ability to use hoists, hand power tools, slings, grinders, cutting torch, and other hand tools related to the jobâ€TMs needs6.Ability to maintain functionality of equipment and notifies management and/or maintenance department of needed repairs.7.Ability to operate equipment safely and utilize appropriate safety habits.8.Ability to perform other tasks, as required.Send us your resume!!#zrfw #googleftw #Indeedftw
