CNC Mill Operator (Large Boring Mill)Novi MI. Contract position through mid-Nov. 2026Day Shift- 6 am- 56 hours a week, 10 hour days, Monday to Saturday. Pay Rate: $25.00 - $32.00 depending on proven experienceSummary of the Large Boring Mill CNC Machine OperatorYou will be working on large milling machine. Sets up, performs checks of routine programs, operates milling CNC vertical or horizontal machines to perform standard and repetitive sequences of operations to meet close tolerances and finish requirements. Mounts and secures tooling in magazine or turret; aligns and secures fixtures and work piece and checks to establish reference points. Complete programming at machine using M & G code.Duties and Responsibilities Large Boring Mill CNC Machine OperatorSelects, measures, assembles, and sets machine tooling, such as drill bits, milling or cutting tools, using precision gauges and instruments.Mounts, installs, aligns, and secures tools, attachments, fixtures on machines, using hand tools.Determines specifications, machine operation, workpiece dimensions, using blueprints, follow standard operating procedures.Performs controller programming at machine to position tools (X,Y,Z coordinates).Measures dimensions of finished workpiece to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.Monitors machine operation and control panel displays to detect malfunctions and compare readings to specifications.Maintains machine, removes and replaces broken or worn machine tooling, using hand tools.Cleans machine, tooling, and parts.Report on daily production achieved.Report Non-Conformances.Participate in continuous improvement processes and activities.Behavioral CompetenciesEHS (Environmental Health and Safety) rules for work on the factory floorUnsafe ActUnsafe ConditionProper PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) usageEmergency plan readinessKey Performance Indicators & MeasuresNon ConformityStandard of QCVerification to the printsSkills:Ability to work independently with written and verbal direction.Good problem solving skills.Proficient math skills.Blueprint reading skills using both imperial and metric systemOverall Required Experience Large Boring Mill CNC Machine Operator4 years CNC Milling experience5 years of experience in a grind room in an industrial/manufacturing setting.Education Requirements Large Boring Mill CNC Machine OperatorHigh School diploma or equivalent.Vocational training is preferred.A successful candidate will be subject to a background check and must receive satisfactory results of the same, as a condition of joining the team.
