The Distribution Center (DC) processes and ships product, supplies and equipment to all 100+ TPS Group Holdings retail locations and fulfills direct-to-consumer (DTC) customer orders. The role of the Director, Distribution Center is to lead a diverse group of individual contributors and leaders to execute and improve operational processes and efficiencies, productivity, and the associate culture, while driving “perfect order” execution through accurate, on-time performance and continuous improvement.What you'll doContribute to the TPS commitment to providing a positive associate culture by modeling ethical behavior, fostering open communication, and maintaining confidential information as required.Oversee day-to-day operations of the DC, ensuring smooth execution of inbound inventory control, outbound, and fulfillment process. This includes setting priorities, assigning tasks, following up on progress, and course correcting to meet productivity goals.Manage a diverse team of individual contributors, temporary associates, and supervisors, including 5 direct reports and 90-180 indirect reports, depending on season, across multiple shifts.Lead, Organize and conduct daily department meetings to communicate achievements, results, safety information and goals.Engage with HR and Operational Leaders to oversee the training of all team members in all functions within the departments, facilitating the opportunity to cross train in other departments.Set the direction for associate and leadership training, including approving training materials and calendars to ensure capability meets current and future business needs.Coordinate and develop headcount budgets and maintain a rolling 12-month labor and volume forecast (cases received, cartons shipped, and order volume) to ensure staffing plans support peak and future growth.Partner with HR and DC leadership to recruit, interview, and select key leadership roles; build and strengthen the management team through succession planning and development.Drive a disciplined performance management cadence: ensure quantitative and qualitative goals are set, conduct/oversee annual reviews on time, and hold regular leadership reviews of performance, coaching plans, and talent outcomes.Maintain an active listening culture by hosting periodic associate forums/town halls to surface barriers to safety, service, and morale; remove obstacles quickly and communicate actions taken.Ensure equipment, tools, and safety systems are maintained in clean, safe, working order; verify PPE usage and readiness through regular audits and partnership with Safety/Facility Operations.Lead, Mentor, and Develop Direct Reports through regular one-on-one meetings, goal setting and follow up, training plans, and exposure to assignments with increasing responsibility.Partner with HR to identify and develop future leaders through succession planning, strengthening management capabilities to meet evolving business needs.Maintain output timeliness and accuracy within all department functions, ensuring the correct product is sent to stores at the correct time by collaborating with the merchandise and planning teams to support product availability and assortment strategy changes.Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy through regular department walks, location optimization, cycle counts, full physical and build process controls including training and follow up.Manage all non-payroll expenses, maximizing efficient use and cost-saving, and ordering accordingly.Forecast labor and production requirements based on quarterly, monthly, and weekly product flow to support staffing and budget planning.Effective utilization and optimization of supply chain software such as ERP, WMS, and TMS, to plan the daily workload, manage production/priorities and troubleshoot issues.Oversee departmental participation in all strategic meetings and engage in strategic leadership forums to align operations with organizational goals.Perform management functions as expected. This includes but is not limited to opening and closing the building, ensuring the wellbeing and safety of all associates and company assets, adjusting work schedule to meet the needs of the business and to fulfill position expectations.Build and maintain a culture of safety and compliance, by following company standards, championing safety programs, and conducting regular audits.Identify and implement process improvements through Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other methodologies.Develop and lead initiatives to increase throughput, productivity, reduce waste, and support long-term scalability.Support new store openings through tailored strategies and partnership with internal team members.Leadership Goals: Lead by example with visible, hands-on ownership of safety, service, and execution.Demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude and set a tone of accountability and respect.Keep the customer at the center of decisions by driving “perfect order” execution: right items, right place, right time.Drive change by managing the numbers and translating performance metrics into clear actions for leaders and associates.Run the DC like a business by planning contingencies for dynamic staffing, volume shifts, and operational changes.Protect and strengthen associate welfare by addressing obstacles quickly and reinforcing a culture where feedback is heard and acted on.Who you areBe a TPS brand ambassadorAt least 5-7 years of experience in distribution and warehousing.5+ years of experience in a position of leadership, managing staff, facilities, and team development including multi-department operations and leading leaders; large-site (150+ associates) experience preferred.Demonstrated expertise in direct-to-consumer fulfillment (A Plus) including a strong customer (“perfect order”) mindset.Strong working knowledge of supply chain systems and tools (WMS, ERP, TMS); ability to use systems data to drive labor planning, productivity, and inventory accuracy.Experience leading continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, or similar methodologies.Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.Proven success in managing both retail and ecommerce fulfillment operations.Strong talent assessment skills and the ability to identify and develop the potential of associates at all levels.Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to adapt and lead a business segment through rapid growth and a changing environment.Great attention to detail.Strong analytical and assessment skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.Demonstrated understanding of managing product flows, including receipt of products, processing, storing/staging, shipping, and other functional operations.Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and planning, for both operational and personnel.Strong Computer and database application skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, Warehouse Management Systems, TMS, and other related systems.Strong organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and deadline management.Demonstrated successful professional etiquette skills, both written and verbal.Demonstrated successful interpersonal skills, including communication, collaboration, active listening and empathy.Scheduling flexibility to work any shift and weekends during high distribution volume periods.Ability to stand and walk for eight hours.Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds.Ability to work on-site 5+ days a week.Ability to travel between Stores, and the Corporate Office.Environmental Considerations: Varying temperature inside the DC depending on external conditions.Loud and/or sudden noises.TPS Group Holdings is an equal-opportunity employer and considers all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, age, veteran status, or any other classification protected by state, local or federal law.
